Losing your base

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

Politically, that is a bad thing to do. President G.W. Bush and the GOP acted like they were intentionally out to piss off their fiscally conservative, Libertarian leaning base for most of his time in the White House. Clearly, that strategy didn’t work out too well for them, loosing both houses of Congress and the White House.

Now it seems that our Dear Leader is following yet another bad example set by former President G.W. Bush, i.e. pissing off his base. A lot of the really far left moonbat wackos aren’t happy because he isn’t putting enough admitted communists in positions of power and now it seems that classic liberal, minivan driving, soccer moms are starting to get pissed off our Dear Leader raiding their kids, and future grandkids, college funds through out of control spending and taxes.

I’m betting that the owner of this minivan voted for our Dear Leader and isn’t happy with how that turned out.

Professor Reynolds was right

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

Professor Glenn Reynolds, also known as the Instapundit, made the following correct prediction back on June 7, 2008:

I can think of no better reason to vote against Obama than the prospect of an administration where any criticism of the President is treated as racism.

Once again, he is being proved correct.

By way of Hot Air is this story from Newsbusters, which points out that a MSNBC “reporter” by the name of Carlos Watson put forth his own bizarre theory in which referring to someone as a “Socialist” is now a “code word” for racism.

What a crock of shit!

The reality is that the Socialist agenda of the current resident of the White House and democrat leaders in congress is becoming more and more apparent, and more and more Americans, including centrist swing voters who probably voted for our Dear Leader, are objecting to it strongly.

The left’s response to American citizens voicing their opinions has included, the knee-jerk response of calling them racists, attempting to deny their First Amendment Rights, denoucing their most American of activities as “un-American” and actual physical violence.

The headline the MSM will never run

Friday, May 15th, 2009

President Obama says, “The Tea Party protesters were right!”

That is the headline the MSM won’t run. The only part of it that isn’t true, is that our Dear Leader didn’t have the testicular fortitude to come out and say it.
What he did say is exactly what the tea party protesters were complaining about:

President Barack Obama, calling current deficit spending “unsustainable,” warned of skyrocketing interest rates for consumers if the U.S. continues to finance government by borrowing from other countries.
“We can’t keep on just borrowing from China,” Obama said at a town-hall meeting in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, outside Albuquerque. “We have to pay interest on that debt, and that means we are mortgaging our children’s future with more and more debt.”

Holders of U.S. debt will eventually “get tired” of buying it, causing interest rates on everything from auto loans to home mortgages to increase, Obama said. “It will have a dampening effect on our economy.”

Kim Priestap points out the extreme hypocrisy of BHO’s behavior.

What a joke. Obama sends our deficit and debt levels into the stratosphere, and he has the nerve to actually lecture us about how dangerous that is. That is what the tea parties were all about. Hundreds of thousands of Americans took to the streets on April 15 to protest the outrageous spending the government has been doing under his watch, and what was his reaction? He ridiculed them. Then a few weeks later he goes to New Mexico and delivers a lecture about how irresponsible it is to spend money we don’t have. The gall.

Now that he has put us into the untenable position of having to borrow so much from China, he turns around and says we have to shore up health care. That means the government will spend even more money we don’t have to meddle in our lives.

That’s right kids, the Community Organizer in Chief is going to use this as an excuse to nationalize a large chunk of the National Economy. The same inefficient government hacks who run the Post Office
are going to be telling you what you can have for health care.

America elected a man with absolutely no executive experience what so ever and had never held a real job in his life. If you are surprised by his behavior, you haven’t been paying attention.

BHO’s slap in the face to America

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

Hundreds of thousands of Americans protested against massive government spending and the crushing federal debt, and our Dear Leader responded by getting his entire cabinet to cut about half of what BHO spend on his inauguration.

Let’s put this in perspective. This is the equivalent of a family with an annual income of $60,000 cutting $6 out of their budget.

The Spin Meter points out a few examples of just how small the President’s gesture is:

$100 million amounts to:

–Less than one-quarter of the budget increase that Congress awarded to itself.

–Less than half the cost of one F-22 fighter plane.

–7 percent of the federal subsidy for the money-losing Amtrak passenger rail system.

–1/10,000th of the government’s operating budgets for Cabinet agencies, excluding the Iraq and Afghan wars and the stimulus bill.

Oh, and if you thought he was asking for new cuts, guess again.

Many of the savings he asked them to achieve are already under way and are included in the calculation.

So what we have is an empty promise and a massive government spending spree, unparalleled in American History, and a crushing debt our grandchildren will still be paying off.

Is this the “Hope & Change” you were expecting?

Update: While our Dear Leader makes empty gestures at “cutting costs”, he’s printing up more money to spend outside the US. In this case $100 Billion for the International Monetary Fund. You remember the IMF, that’s the organization that reimbursed tax cheat and Secretary of the Treasury Tim Geithner for taxes he never planned on paying.

Prof. Reynolds was right

Friday, April 17th, 2009

Back on June 7, 2008, law professor Glenn Reynolds (better known as Instapundit) posted the following:

I can think of no better reason to vote against Obama than the prospect of an administration where any criticism of the President is treated as racism.

Well folks, as it has been shown before, he was bloody well right.
The extremist far left has their spokeskook, Garofalo, on MSNBC with Olbermann spouting their nonsense.

The rational thought content in her rant is stuck at zero. This is pure leftism, no logic, no facts, just raw hate.
