Round Up Post

Let’s start the fun with the CDC Study Ordered by our Dear Leader, Barack Hussein Obama, that Contradicts White House Anti-gun Narrative. Don’t expect reality to get in way of their “progressive” political agenda this time either.

BHO’s former Sec. of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton yelled at a congressman in a briefing just after the Benghazi terror attack for calling it a terror attack.  Again, reality didn’t fit the Obama political agenda, so reality had to be denied.

While Barack Hussein Obama tries to spin away his very real scandals by calling them “phony,” Jim O’Sullivan correctly identifies Obama’s so called “economic recovery” as the real phony.

What isn’t “phony” about the Obama economy is “Slow GDP growth, lagging job creation, constricted free markets, ballooning deficits and debt, growing and counterproductive regulation, crippling taxation, and the penalization of small business…”

On the topic of the Obama economy, the CBO reports that our Dear Leader broke a new record, four years of federal deficit over $1 trillion. That is a trillion dollar plus deficit for each of the first four years of his “occupy the White House” golf tour.  The current US debt is $16.9 Trillion and growing.

Forbes reports that the German Green Energy Bluster Running Out Of Wind.  It seems that unreliable wind produced energy can’t compete without massive government subsidies. Combine that with their policy of shutting down carbon neutral nuclear power plants that deliver steady energy at a lower cost than the very expensive wind turbines, and you have rapidly rising energy costs and cold German winter on the way.

No surprise here, but Hillary Rodham Clinton is throwing Tony Weiner under the bus for his sex scandal.  Mentioning her husband’s sex scandals would be in bad taste, so ya, he had a lot of them.  HRC responded to those by attacking the women who dared bring up her husband’s sexual harassment.  Yup, if it wasn’t for double standards, democrats would have no standards.

Power to Save the World: The Truth About Nuclear Energy by Gwyneth Cravens

In honor of Lenin’s birthday, I’m going to repeat the Monday Book Pick from May 11, 2009. An environmentalist opposed to Nuclear Energy did some honest research and came to the conclusion that only Nuclear Power can provide the base load of clean electricity needed. Actual science trumps rhetoric.

Al Gore sells out to Big Oil

Al Gore, the patron Saint of the Algore cult of Global Warming, sold his “Current TV” business to Al Jazeera, which is owned by the Emir of Qatar.

Qatar is one of those oil producing OPEC nations.

It seems that some of the “true believers” on the Current TV staff, who are all being fired, are a bit miffed over this.

Yesterday morning, the still shell shocked staff at Current TV was called to an all hands staff meeting at its San Francisco headquarters, which was teleconferenced to their offices in LA and NYC, to meet their new bosses…

“Of course Al didn’t show up,” said one high placed Current staffer. “He has no credibility.

“He’s supposed to be the face of clean energy and just sold [the channel] to very big oil, the emir of Qatar! Current never even took big oil advertising—and Al Gore, that bulls***ter sells to the emir?”…

“We do stories on the tax code, and he sells the network before the tax code kicked in?”

To quote Allahpundit: “Oh, the schadenfreude.” Perhaps now Algore can afford yet another giant, energy guzzling, mansion.

Inserting reality into Obama’s spin on Solyndra

“It is true that “Republicans and Democrats” approved a green energy loan guarantee program. But “Republicans and Democrats” did not approve this loan guarantee program. As FactCheck.org reminds us, the program under which Solyndra was handed $500 million in taxpayer money was authorized in the Obama/Reid/Pelosi partisan “stimulus” bill of 2009. Zero House Republicans voted for that law. Also, a previous Solyndra loan application was explicitly rejected by Bush-era actuaries because of its inherent soundness problems. Some of Obama’s bookkeepers continued to warn against its approval, but they were overruled by the White House political team because the president’s allies were determined to make the company the “poster child” of his green vision. That’s also why Obama ignored internal worries and held a big presidential photo-op at Solyndra’s (now-defunct) factory. The list goes on: Obama DOE officials sat in on Solyndra board meetings. One of Solyndra’s top investors, George Kaiser — who just happened to be a major Obama campaign donor — also just happened to make a flurry of White House visits right before the doomed loan was given the thumbs-up. Kaiser and the White House claimed they didn’t discuss Solyndra during those meetings. They lied. We also know that even after Solyndra defaulted on its initial loan, Obama’s Energy Department conveniently restructured the loan terms, assuring that investors like George Kaiser would be first in line to get paid if (when) the company went belly-up. Obama owns this mess, and he knows it. But he’s obfuscating and dissembling to save his own skin.”

Can we learn from history?

First, let’s review a post I made back in July 2008:

Oil down, dollar up since Bush rescinded drilling restrictions

Remember the leftist mantra about how “if we started drilling now, it wouldn’t effect prices for 10 years.” Well, they got that wrong too, just like Barak Obama’s predictions about the Troop Surge in Iraq. 100%, flat out wrong again. Yes, there is a pattern here.

Then, lets review the current President’s energy policy of restricting domestic energy production and the results of those polices, i.e. steadily rising gas prices and the dollar losing value.

I’m pretty sure those lefties who called GW Bush “the worst President ever” got it seriously wrong.  Our Dear Leader has clearly claimed that title.

Back in 2008, Barack Obama was all for oil pipelines

Now he is endangering America’s energy future and killing jobs by blocking oil pipelines.

Gas at $6 a Gallon. Is this change you were hoping for?

It’s official, gas has hit $5.999 in Florida, which for those of you with poor math skills, is $6.

Despite what that lying hack of a White House Press Secretary says, this is a direct result of our Dear Leader’s policies, including his monetary policies.

Just how is that Hopey Changey thing working out for ya?

Obama’s Energy Policy

Let’s review our Dear Leader’s Energy Policy.

He killed the Keystone pipeline, killing thousands of jobs and putting America’s energy supply at risk.

He had his eye on Brazilian oil, but it looks like the Communist Chinese are going to be on the fast track to get it.

Obama Forbids Uranium Mining on Federal Lands In Arizona for Next 20 Years

North Dakota Stuck Using More-Costly Railroads to Move Oil. “Right now, about 25% of North Dakota’s oil travels by rail. According to the CBS News report that ‘will increase exponentially with increased oil production and the shortage of pipelines.’”

Our Dear Leader is clearly against any  proven technology and isn’t as really into alternate technology as his leftist supporters wish he was.  His history with alternate technology more in line with Solyndra, which was much more of a political payoff than a good investment of taxpayer money.

Update: The Obama EPA is shutting down an oil refinery that will likely drive up gas prices in the Northeast.  Higher energy prices is a goal of the Obama regime, so no one who has been paying attention should be surprised by this.

Here are a few thing that just may have flew under your radar.

Obama is admired by just 4 percent of Middle East Arabs in the new survey  released by the Brookings Institution and University of Maryland. I seem to recall the lefties telling everyone that Barack Hussein Obama understood the Muslim world and would improve our standing there.  Silly lefties, as TalkStraight correctly summed it up, “[The] Arab World does not admire people they consider weak.”

Our Dear Leader is continuing his version of a “jobs program”, by being on track to kill a potential 120,000 American jobs by stonewalling the Keystone Pipeline Project. Just what does he have against inexpensive, non-oil tanker required, conflict free, oil being available to the American people? It is almost as if he wants higher energy prices, rising inflation and an American economy stuck in a ditch.

Since QE1 and QE2 have been such dismal failures, Obama’s pick to head the Fed,Ben Bernanke, is looking to inflict QE3 on the American people.  For those of you who forget just what “Quantitative Easing” is, here is an instructional video.

Chicago democrat, and old Obama buddy Tony Rezko gets a ten and half year prison term for “extorting millions of dollars from firms seeking state business or regulatory approval.” Ya, it does sorta sound like the Obama administration funneling “green investment” money to big democrat donors.
