Maher used to be a stand up comic, i.e. someone who made their living by observing humanity and asking the questions other people missed. That is exactly what he is doing here. He is pointing out the obscene level of hypocrisy being shown by the MSM.

This oil spill is Obama’s Katrina, and if the MSM was mildly honest, that is how they would be reporting this story.

Selecting Hillary Rodham Clinton for the upcoming vacancy in the Supreme Court has been floated by a few sources.
Jammie Wearing Fool is correct in stating it would be a safe pick. She is in her second term in the Senate and will get support from enough other Senators in both parties (including the Socialist who, no surprise here, caucuses with the democrats) because they will support a member of their oh so exclusive club. Selecting HRC allows our Dear Leader to claim victory in putting a far left liberal woman on the court with expending any of the little political capital he has left.
Ed Morrissey also correctly notes: “… best of all, Obama would be dispatching the one Democrat who could conceivably win a primary race against him in 2012 if his numbers continue to fall. Once on the Supreme Court, Hillary would not step down to run for President, and Bill Clinton would be effectively neutralized as well.”
I stand by my advice from last October for Senator Clinton, run for Governor of New York State!
Either way, the President can appoint anybody he wants and can expect the same support from the Senate that previous Presidents have gotten from that body. The President should keep in mind that both he and Vice-President Biden voted against Supreme Court nominees appointed by President George W. Bush on purely political reasons.
What does the left have against Free Speech?
The modern American left has a long, and sad, history of attacks on the First Amendment.
A history they are obviously willing to continue. Now the left is once again adding racist attacks to their resume.
“Oreos,” “traitors,” and “Uncle Toms“ are just a few of the ugly names that black conservatives have been called for having the audacity to oppose the nation’s first black president. According to AP writer Valerie Bauman, Timothy F. Johnson, chairman of the conservative Frederick Douglass Foundation, has been called much worse. “I’ve been told I’m a spook at the door,” reports Johnson. “I’ve been told I hate myself.”

The great irony, of course, is that the need for blacks to fall in line rather than think for themselves is the worst kind of racial stereotyping—self policing. It is precisely this kind of ugly mob tactics that Democrats claim to find so abhorrent.
Then we have a member of Code Pink attempting physical assault on Karl Rove, and attacking his First Amendment Rights. To make this story even more disgusting, Jodie Evans is a top “bundler” for the Obama administration, bringing huge amounts of cash for direct access with our Dear Leader. Clearly Evans’ attacks against Mr. Rove are politically motivated. Unlike other protesters who have convictions that know no political boundaries.
The left is nowhere done with their continued assault on the First Amendment. With the Tax Day Tea Party protests coming up, there is an organized effort to disrupt them and to falsely portray the protesters as what the left is trying to paint them as. Respected polling organizations have shown that the majority of the Tea Party protesters are a cross section of America. Not only does the left want to deny the Tea Party movement their rights of Free Speech and Assembly, they have to lie in order to try and get their twisted view of reality out where MSNBC can air their lies as “news.”
Obama White House is starting to push for a VAT tax
For those of you who don’t know what a VAT tax is, it’s a tax on everything paid by everyone.
Given the massive debts our Dear Leader and the democrat congress have run up since taking control of the government, and their plans to keep spending, they need a way to fleece even more money from the American people. The VAT tax they are talking up is certainly one way to do it, as long as you don’t care about the negative effects on the economy. Since actually working to improve the economy clearly isn’t anywhere on the agenda for the Obama administration or Congressional democrats, keep your eye out for a federal VAT tax.
What ever happened to Cindy Sheehan?

You remember Cindy Sheehan, the left’s “ultimate moral authority” when protesting the policies of former President George W. Bush. Well, she hasn’t been in the news much lately. Not since her campaign van had its tires slashed when she was running against Nancy Pelosi.
Well, it appears she made the news a couple of weeks ago, but not the same level of coverage she used to get from the fawning left leaning MSM outlets that she got protesting President George W. Bush.
She was arrested outside the White House, were she was protesting the policies of our Dear Leader. She was quote as yelling “Arrest that war criminal!” in reference to Mr. Obama.
You don’t remember seeing this on the evening news? Neither do I. No mention of it on CNN’s site either. It seems that Ms. Sheehan’s passion no longer fits the MSM’s narrative.
Rev. Sharpton informs the American voters just what they voted for
Now, educated people on the right have been saying for a while that our Dear Leader‘s policies are socialist.
We now have some verification on this from the extremist left, by way of the Rev. Al Sharpton, who ran for the democrat nomination for President a few years ago.
The Rev. Sharpton makes the point that our Dear Leader‘s policies were pretty clearly socialist during the election, so people are just getting what they voted for.
Obama puts a stop to the popular off shore drilling option
Barbara Hollingsworth reports in the DC Examiner:
The Obama administration’s six-month delay in approving new offshore drilling leases in federal waters will become a new three-year ban, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar quietly told reporters last Friday. Which means that no new oil and gas leases will be approved during President Obama’s term even though two –thirds of the American public supports such activity, according to a December 2009 Rasmussen poll.

“Secretary Salazar has finally confirmed what had long been feared – that the Obama Administration has no intention of opening up new areas for offshore drilling during his four-years in office,” said Rep. Doc Hastings, the ranking Republican on the House Natural Resources Committee.So for the next three years and probably more, trillions of dollars in domestic energy assets will remain untouched while billions of dollars more are spent on foreign oil.
Clearly, as in the Health Care “debate”, our Dear Leader has absolutely no interest in what the American People, whom he was elected to represent, care about in a vitally important subject. The President’s ban on domestic energy sources also tells us that he has no interest in halting rising energy costs or taking any steps toward improving the economy. Opening up these resources will immediately create many “shovel ready” good paying jobs, providing a short term benefit to the economy as well as long term benefits. Why is our Dear Leader opposed to actually improving the US economy?

We still have the ongoing saga of tax cheat and democrat congressman from New York, Charles Rangel.
Now we have our Dear Leader handing out federal judgeships in an attempt to buy votes in his own party for his massively unpopular Obamacare Charlie Fox. As Ms. Malkin says, it looks like a quid pro quo, smells like a quid pro quo, and quacks like a quid pro quo.
This is either a clear case of flat out corruption or the Obama administration is so dangerously incompetent that they didn’t see the connection between this key vote and an federal judgeship appointment. Either way, it’s not good for America.
