BHO’s slap in the face to America

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

Hundreds of thousands of Americans protested against massive government spending and the crushing federal debt, and our Dear Leader responded by getting his entire cabinet to cut about half of what BHO spend on his inauguration.

Let’s put this in perspective. This is the equivalent of a family with an annual income of $60,000 cutting $6 out of their budget.

The Spin Meter points out a few examples of just how small the President’s gesture is:

$100 million amounts to:

–Less than one-quarter of the budget increase that Congress awarded to itself.

–Less than half the cost of one F-22 fighter plane.

–7 percent of the federal subsidy for the money-losing Amtrak passenger rail system.

–1/10,000th of the government’s operating budgets for Cabinet agencies, excluding the Iraq and Afghan wars and the stimulus bill.

Oh, and if you thought he was asking for new cuts, guess again.

Many of the savings he asked them to achieve are already under way and are included in the calculation.

So what we have is an empty promise and a massive government spending spree, unparalleled in American History, and a crushing debt our grandchildren will still be paying off.

Is this the “Hope & Change” you were expecting?

Update: While our Dear Leader makes empty gestures at “cutting costs”, he’s printing up more money to spend outside the US. In this case $100 Billion for the International Monetary Fund. You remember the IMF, that’s the organization that reimbursed tax cheat and Secretary of the Treasury Tim Geithner for taxes he never planned on paying.

Prof. Reynolds was right

Friday, April 17th, 2009

Back on June 7, 2008, law professor Glenn Reynolds (better known as Instapundit) posted the following:

I can think of no better reason to vote against Obama than the prospect of an administration where any criticism of the President is treated as racism.

Well folks, as it has been shown before, he was bloody well right.
The extremist far left has their spokeskook, Garofalo, on MSNBC with Olbermann spouting their nonsense.

The rational thought content in her rant is stuck at zero. This is pure leftism, no logic, no facts, just raw hate.

Translating Obamaspeak

Friday, April 17th, 2009

As a public service, I’m providing translations for some of our Dear Leader‘s “code words” into English.

“Overseas Contingency Operations” is Obamaspeak for the Global War on Islamofascism.

“Man-caused disasters” is Obamaspeak for Islamic Terrorism.

“Secretary of the Treasury” is Obamaspeak for Tax Cheat.

“Rightwing Extremist” is Obamaspeak for Veterans of the United States Military

The left’s “Deity”

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

I kid you not. I received the following tweet from a leftist troll today.

I’m a supporter of change the change our great and divine leader president Obama has brought to america

Let’s take a look at that statement through the eyes of a rational adult in a free society.
First off, “great and divine leader”? This leftist troll should move to North Korea, he would fit right in.
Second, note that the troll capitalized the name of his “great and divine leader”, but couldn’t be bothered to capitalize the name of the nation he lives in and provides him the freedoms to decent.

This leftist troll was complaining about American citizens exercising their First Amendment rights.
He claimed that this exercise of the basic Human Right of Free Speech was “treason” against his “great and divine leader.” This leftist troll sets his cult of personality beliefs above that of the Constitution of the United States of America. I would not be surprised if this leftist troll demonstrated the left’s typical lack of basic history by calling those who are exercising their Civil Rights “fascists.”

“Hope & Change” does not include tolerance.

Saturday, April 11th, 2009

It seems that tolerance, as well as diversity, is not included in the set of “Hope & Change.”

Since Arizona State University made the rational and well thought out decision not grant our Dear Leader an honorary degree because of his overall lack of experience in just about anything, the radical extremist far left that makes up the most rabid of Team Lightbringer’s supporters have reacted true to form.

ASU dared to defy their leftist deity, so they want the heretics burned. I’m not kidding. There have been actual death threats from the “open minded and tolerant” left.

Laurie Chassin co-chairs the ASU Honorary Degree Committee along with Christine Wilkinson, but she is on sabbatical this year and is not involved in this year’s evaluations. According to a source within the administration, she reportedly received death threats after this story hit national news on Thursday. An ASU spokesperson said they started receiving hate-email within minutes after the story was published on Huffington Post.

The President’s friend and advisor, the terrorist William Ayers should be proud.

Control of the Banks

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

As Stuart Varney points out in this Wall Street Journal article, control of the banks is clearly the goal of our Dear Leader‘s administration.

The government wants to control the banks, just as it now controls GM and Chrysler, and will surely control the health industry in the not-too-distant future. Keeping them TARP-stuffed is the key to control. And for this intensely political president, mere influence is not enough. The White House wants to tell ’em what to do. Control. Direct. Command.

If the banks are forced to keep TARP cash — which was often forced on them in the first place — the Obama team can work its will on the financial system to unprecedented degree. That’s what’s happening right now.

Fast forward to today, and that same bank is begging to give the money back. The chairman offers to write a check, now, with interest. He’s been sitting on the cash for months and has felt the dead hand of government threatening to run his business and dictate pay scales. He sees the writing on the wall and he wants out. But the Obama team says no, since unlike the smaller banks that gave their TARP money back, this bank is far more prominent. The bank has also been threatened with “adverse” consequences if its chairman persists. That’s politics talking, not economics.

The clear goal here is not economic recovery, it is to use the power of the federal executive branch to bully private business to rewarding the President’s friends and punish his political enemies.

Welcome to the Third World folks.

…and the hits keep on rolling in.

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

First, yet another Obama nominee who has a problem paying taxes. This time it’s Health and Human Services nominee Kathleen Sebelius, who owed more than $7,000 in back taxes. Our Dear Leader is barking up the wrong tree by raising taxes on the “rich” (which with today’s $0.70 hike in cigarette taxes includes everybody). He should just get democrats to pay their taxes.

Next, following up on his embarrassingly stupid gift to the British PM, our “oh so smart” President gives the Queen of England an iPod.

Then BHO’s “top notch” media team screws the pooch on scheduling with the US media.

Didn’t the democrats tell us he was the “smart one?”

HRC may be evil, but she was at least competent.

Another one bites the dust

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

Yet another one of BHO’s selections, this one for Deputy Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, has removed his name from the running. It was disclosed that Jon Cannon was on the board of a nonprofit group faulted for mishandling federal grant money.

A 2007 EPA inspector general’s report on the foundation alleged a variety of irregularities involving $25 million in federal grants to assess water quality problems, including those at farms and pork processing facilities. The problems with accounting, improper cash advances and similar violations stretched from 1998 to 2005, according to the report.
