Obama’s ‘Calculator Abuse’

Sunday, November 1st, 2009

According to ABC News’ Jack Tapper, Jared Bernstein, chief economist and senior economic advisor to the vice president, used the term “Calculator Abuse” when a reporter did some basic arithmetic  the the federal government’s own numbers.  The government’s own numbers show what the reporter pointed out, $160 billion spent divided by 1 million jobs “created or saved” means that each of those jobs “created or saved” cost the US taxpayer $160,000 per job.  Once again, Team Lightbringer responded with a classic defense, “Who are you going to believe? Me or that lying calculator?”

As we know know, the term “jobs created or saved” is a scam created by our Dear Leader to hide the truth from the American People.  It has become so obvious that even CBS “News” has been forced to report on it.

Ace goes into much more detail on how the Obama administration knew it was a farce from day one and were much more concerned with creating the illusion of economic growth where there is none.

When the WH demanded that those who received Spendulus money “report” back on how many jobs were “saved or created,” they insisted upon a nonsensical rule: If a single dollar of Spendulus was spent on an employee’s salary, whether that employee was a new employee or an old one, that gets counted as a job “saved or created.” If he’s a new employee, that job was created. If he’s an existing employee, that job was saved.

For $1.

Yes, $1. Because the nonsensical rules the White House told these people to count “saved or created” jobs by simply stated: If any employee’s salary is paid, in whole or in part (any part!), count that as a job “saved or created” by the spending.

And then report that number back to us.

Note that the White House’s rules do not seek to discover which jobs really were “saved or created.”

The harsh reality of the current economy, the worst since Jimmy Carter, and its effects on the average American just doesn’t matter to our Dear Leader.

Michelle Malkin has more details
on the “jobs created and saved” scam.

Update: More evidence that our Dear Leader‘s “jobs created and saved” numbers are complete and utter nonsense:

President Barack Obama’s economic recovery program saved 935 jobs at the Southwest Georgia Community Action Council, an impressive success story for the stimulus plan. Trouble is, only 508 people work there.
The Georgia nonprofit’s inflated job count is among persisting errors in the government’s latest effort to measure the effect of the $787 billion stimulus plan despite White House promises last week that the new data would undergo an “extensive review” to root out errors discovered in an earlier report.
About two-thirds of the 14,506 jobs claimed to be saved under one federal office, the Administration for Children and Families at Health and Human Services, actually weren’t saved at all, according to a review of the latest data by The Associated Press.

Update: Even the way far left leaning Boston Globe has noticed that the White House numbers have no connection of reality. It is interesting to listen to the Globe reporter try to spin this White House scam as a “mistake.” There is no mistake. Team Lightbringer knew that the porkulus wouldn’t actually create any actual jobs, so they came up with “rules” that would make it appear that some actual benefit was was created by that massive spending bill.

Mean while, in California, state regulations kill 3.8 Million jobs

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Yup, burdensome and excessive state regulations have cost the California economy 3.8 million jobs in the small business  market.

That’s right folks, the small businesses that employ most of the people. The small businesses that are competely unrepresented on our Dear Leader‘s so-called “economic team.”

This helps explains California’s current unemployment rate of 12.2%.

This is the result of the far left policies of the California legislature. If it wasn’t for the Governator acting as a rational brake on their policies, California would be flirting with Michigan’s 15.2% unemployment rate.

Mean while, in Germany

Monday, September 28th, 2009

German voters decide to deal with their economic downturn by electing a right of center majority that plans to cut taxes in order to stimulate economic growth.

According to Bloomberg, voters rejected the plans of the “Social Democratic challenger to raise taxes on top earners.”

I’m betting that their plan will work better than our Dear Leader’s socialist fantasies.

Obama: Billions for ACORN, but not for the Exploration of Space!

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

As part of our Dear Leader’s porkulus plan, the criminal thugs at ACORN are getting $5 Billion in taxpayer funds.

How many real jobs will that create?  I’m pretty confident that number is right around zero.

Now it is reported that NASA won’t be sending anybody to the moon anytime soon, that would require an additional $3 billion dollars a year.  Taxpayer money which Team Lightbringer would rather spend on a criminal enterprise.

One thing that is clear from the American space program is that it created high paying, high tech jobs that contributed to the health of the American economy and spin off technology that has not just benefited America, but humanity as a whole.  I’m not talking  just Tang and Velcro here folks.  The GPS system and satellite TV just two examples of space program spin off technologies that are still driving growth industries today.  The weather satellite system that makes it possible to produce enough food to make famine obsolete is also a product of the US space program.

Ya, I said enough food to make famine obsolete.  Let’s be honest here people, any wide spread famine on this planet in the last couple of decades has been the result of politics and not the lack of ability to produce or deliver the food.

To recap, an additional $3 billion a year to NASA would once again put Americans on the Moon.  It would also be highly beneficial to the US economy by fueling the high tech industry, putting skilled American engineers back to work and producing a very noticable “trickle down” (more like a monsoon) effect on the industries that support that high tech economy.  It would also spark an renewed interest in the sciences in American schools and universities, and promote a sense of adventure in America in a positive and constructive endevor.

Instead, our Dear Leader and the s0-called democrat “leadership” in Congress would rather pour that tax payer money down the drain by giving it to their political allies who are under investigation for massive vote fraud in multiple states.

Is this the “Hope and Change” you were expecting?

Something to look forward to if Cap & Tax passes

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

The UK has their own version of the Cap and Tax bill already. It provides some interesting insight into what Americans can look forward to if our Dear Leader and the democrats in Congress get what they want.

For example, an additional tax on air travel.

Tens of billions of pounds will have to be raised through flight taxes to compensate developing countries for the damage air travel does to the environment, according to the Government’s advisory body on climate change.

Ticket prices should rise steadily over time to deter air travel and ensure that carbon dioxide emissions from aviation fall back to 2005 levels, the Committee on Climate Change says. It believes that airlines should be forced to share the burden of meeting Britain’s commitment to an 80 per cent cut in emissions by 2050.

Yup, the bottom line is the flow of money from the First World to the Third World.

Biden’s fantasy

Friday, September 4th, 2009

Vice-President Joey Biden is spinning like a top, spreading the fantasy that the porkulus package is doing anything positive for the economy while hundreds of thousands of jobs are being lost each month.

Unemployment is on the rise again

Friday, September 4th, 2009

The Obama Economy is operating as predicted, with employment hitting a 26 year high of 9.7%.

Let us review what our Dear Lader and the congressional democrats told us when they rammed the porkulus bill down America’s throat.  If the massive spending program (that doesn’t even start to spend two thirds of the money until after 2010) wasn’t passed, unemployment would hit 9% and if it was passed, it wouldn’t go over 8%.

Geoff has a nice chart that compares the Team Lightbringer fantasy with reality.  Let me sum up the chart for you, the so called democrat “leadership” who came up with that Charlie Foxtrot are either incompetent or liars.  Either one of those solutions is not very comforting to the American people.

Losing your base

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

Politically, that is a bad thing to do. President G.W. Bush and the GOP acted like they were intentionally out to piss off their fiscally conservative, Libertarian leaning base for most of his time in the White House. Clearly, that strategy didn’t work out too well for them, loosing both houses of Congress and the White House.

Now it seems that our Dear Leader is following yet another bad example set by former President G.W. Bush, i.e. pissing off his base. A lot of the really far left moonbat wackos aren’t happy because he isn’t putting enough admitted communists in positions of power and now it seems that classic liberal, minivan driving, soccer moms are starting to get pissed off our Dear Leader raiding their kids, and future grandkids, college funds through out of control spending and taxes.

I’m betting that the owner of this minivan voted for our Dear Leader and isn’t happy with how that turned out.

Obama’s Read My Lips moment is on its way

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

It seems that someone at CNN has finally done that math on our Dear Leader‘s programs and figured out what the rest of us did before the election.

He’s going to jack taxes through the roof.

Ace points out some highlights of the article:

…Shy of finding a fairy willing to leave trillions under Uncle Sam’s pillow, lawmakers will have to raise taxes and cut spending…
…President Obama is pledging to keep taxes low for most people…

…Experts say that’s not going to cut it.

“Taxes are going up and they’re going up for a lot more people than those making more than $250,000. Why? Math. The numbers don’t come close to working,”…

The math isn’t that hard folks, he wants to greatly expand government on top of already expanding the massive federal debt. Somebody has to pay for the programs and the interest. Even if you taxed 100% of what “the rich” make, it isn’t enough.

Below the Beltway quotes a Washington Post article that also shows the scary math.
