A brilliant observation on branding
Bill Whittle of PJTV has a very insightful segment on branding and politics. He pulls no punchs in pointing out the democrats get it and how the RNC is pretty much completely clueless on the subject.
Yup, something else that the RNC has screwed the pooch on. Add it to the list.
Mr. Whittle makes two excellent points in this video. First, the RNC has the better message (they may not live up to it all the time, but that is another issue). Fiscal conservatism, individual rights and responsibilities, the US Constitution, all that stuff. It’s healthier for the nation, its citizens and allies. The RNC packages that message as “eat your vegatables”, not as a tasty smoothie that, oh ya, happens to be the best thing for your body since whatever the last thing that was best for your body was. The DNC’s message of socialism, statism, and turn in your grandma for reading the Constitution, is by comparison, the junk food that is going to harden your arteries and give you a fatal heart attack, but its wrapped up in pretty package and loaded with tasty cancer causing chemicals. Barack Obama and the DNC are like the Marlborough Man, the brand sold a lot of cigarettes, and killed a lot of their customers.
The other point is that Mr. Whittle makes is that the branding can turn on you. There has been a distinct rise in negative messages using the Obama “O” logo, and even BHO’s face, which the DNC and its lackeys where so careful to associate with an angelic halo whenever possible, has been associated with a clown faced psychopath, who’s main goal is the destruction of society and the advancement of destructive chaos. Expect more of this as our Dear Leader‘s poll numbers drop and more people pick up on the truth of Mr. Whittle’s message.
Religion and Politics
Back when my son was in Scouting, I taught multiple merit badges for the Troop, including all three Citizenship merit badge. Citizenship in the Nation required them to read and discuss the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.
I found this great shirt pocket sized book from the Cato Institute that had both the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. I bought them in bulk and gave each Scout in my class a copy. Then I told there would be a quiz in the next class, and there was.
Now the Cato Institute is a Libertarian think tank, and being in the Peoples’ Commonwealth of Massachusetts, I tried to find an opposing view. So I went to the ACLU‘s website and tried to find a similar publication. What I could not find at the ACLU website was the Constitution of the United States of America, the fundamental legal document of the nation.
That is when it dawned on me, the ACLU is like the old Roman Catholic Church. They wanted the Mass in Latin and the Bible printed in Latin, with only the Priests knowing how to speak and read Latin. They didn’t want the Laity knowing what the Word of God was, the Church only wanted them to know what the Church said the word of God was.
The Libertarians are like that rabble rousing Martin Luther, who had the radical idea of printing the Bible in languages that the Laity could read. Let them read it and see what it really says.
The Libertarians feel that the US Constitution is a remarkable document, that clearly lists what the functions of Government are and just as importantly, what are not the functions of the federal government. It’s all there, written in clear English. They want the Citizens to read it, understand it and know how it is supposed to effect their daily lives.
The far left, which includes most Congressional democrats (who are not “liberals” in the classic sense), don’t want American citizens to read the Constitution. They want to tell you what it means, and don’t want you raising questions about their interpreation have nothing to do with the words written in the actual document.
Personally, I think you should read it, and ask just why the leftists are so afraid of you doing so.

Another leftist double standard: Requiring ID
First off, a story NewsBusters files under “Can’t Make It Up” with good reason.
Eugene Green, a democrat congresscritter from Texas has voted against defending the basic civil rights of American citizens by voting NO on requiring ID for federal elections. This hasn’t stopped him from demanding that American Citizens in his own district present a photo ID in order to be admitted into his “Town Hall” Meetings.
Liberal democrat hypocrisy so thick you need an ax to make a dent in it.
Extra Bonus Example: Racist Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor had her fitness club membership canceled because she repeated refused to show her ID when entering the club. She apparently felt that the staff should have been honored to have a “wise Latina woman” gracing their establishment and didn’t need to identify herself.
A look behind the scenes at an ObamaCare Astroturf event

More lies from the left about Obamacare
Why do democrats feel the need to lie in order “sell” their so-called “Health Care Reform” program to the American People? Probably because it has little or none to do with improving the Health Care of most tax paying American citizens.
Rightwing Sparkle has yet another example of a what is probably a planted democrat operative lying at a Town Hall meeting.
On Aug. 11th our own Houston Chronicle displayed a picture of Shelia Jackson Lee hugging a woman who had asked a question at the townhall as well, but her question was in full support of the health care bill. The woman was identified as “Dr. Roxana Mayer, a pediatric primary care physician.” Turns out, she isn’t a doctor at all though. She had identified herself to the Chonicle that way though.
…
So, here we have someone asking a question, giving favor in support of the health care bill, posing as a doctor to give more credibility to her support. When in reality she was an Obama delegate and NOT a doctor.
If “Obamacare” really was beneficial to American Citizens, the simple truth would support the democrat’s policies. Since they feel the need to lie repeatedly about it, that should tell you all you need to know.
Update: HotAir points out that not only is Roxana Mayer not a doctor, she was an Obama delegate!
