Liberal buyer remorse over Barack Hussein Obama

Sunday, January 24th, 2010

It seems that more and more liberals are figuring out that our Dear Leader is not bringing about the “change” they had hoped for.

First we have admitted Obama voter Mort Zuckerman, editor in chief of U.S. News & World Report.

This health-care plan is going to be a fiscal disaster for the country. Most of the country wanted to deal with costs, not expansion of coverage. This is going to raise costs dramatically.
In the campaign, he said he would change politics as usual. He did change them. It’s now worse than it was. I’ve now seen the kind of buying off of politicians that I’ve never seen before. It’s politically corrupt and it’s starting at the top. It’s revolting.

One business leader said to me, “In the Clinton administration, the policy people were at the center, and the political people were on the sideline. In the Obama administration, the political people are at the center, and the policy people are on the sidelines.”
I’m very disappointed. We endorsed him. I voted for him. I supported him publicly and privately.

Let me tell you what a major leader said to me recently. “We are convinced,” he said, “that he is not strong enough to confront his enemy. We are concerned,” he said “that he is not strong to support his friends.”
The political leadership of the world is very, very dismayed. He better turn it around. The Democrats are going to get killed in this election. Jesus, looks what’s happening in Massachusetts.

I can’t predict things two years from now, but if he continues on the downward spiral he is on, he won’t be reelected. In the meantime, the Democrats have recreated the Republican Party. And when I say Democrats, I mean the Obama administration

Next is the far left liberal “economist” Paul Zuckerman.

I’m pretty close to giving up on Mr. Obama, who seems determined to confirm every doubt I and others ever had about whether he was ready to fight for what his supporters believed in.

Barack Hussein Obama’s “change” is nothing but warmed over failed socialist ideas. This is why independents, and 20% of democrats, in Massachusetts, who overwhelmingly voted for him in 2008, rejected Obama’s policies very soundly by electing a Republican who’s stated goal was to block BHO’s horrible and budget take over of the American health care system.

Update: Tech Pundit Jason Calacanis, who was a big Obama supporter just said on the latest episode of TWiT that he is very disappointed with Obama’s lack of leadership.

Air American is shutting down

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Color me not surprised, the far left extremist Air America radio network is shutting down because they can’t operate at a profit.

A memorandum was distributed to the staff at Air America Media this afternoon. It read in part:
“It is with the greatest regret, on behalf of our Board, that we must announce that Air America Media is ceasing its live programming operations as of this afternoon, and that the Company will file soon under Chapter 7 of the Bankruptcy Code to carry out an orderly winding-down of the business.”

The memo was signed by Charlie Kireker, the Chair of Air America Media.

I guess there were no more inner city kids they could steal money from this time.

No Christmas Spirit in Lake Wobegon

Saturday, December 19th, 2009

Leftist Garrison Keillor is clearly a bit fuzzy on that whole “Peace on Earth and Goodwill Toward Men” thing, at least where Jews getting involved with his holiday is concerned.

Garrison Keillor, self-appointed cultural representative of regular old Americans, ruffled some feathers yesterday with a mildly xenophobic rant about Christmas. After lambasting a Unitarian church in Cambridge, Massachusetts, for “spiritual piracy and cultural elitism”—tweaking the lyrics of “Silent Night” for a singalong, in layman’s terms—he turned his ire in a different direction:

And all those lousy holiday songs by Jewish guys that trash up the malls every year, Rudolph and the chestnuts and the rest of that dreck. Did one of our guys write ‘Grab your loafers, come along if you wanna, and we’ll blow that shofar for Rosh Hashanah’? No, we didn’t. Christmas is a Christian holiday—if you’re not in the club, then buzz off.

Yet another example to prove that there is nobody more intolerant and narrow-minded than an tolerant and open-minded liberal.  Yup, leftist are all for “diversity” as long as “those people” know, and keep, their place.

Liberal Logic

Sunday, September 13th, 2009

Liberal democrats who are trying to shove socialized medicine down the throats of the American people tell us that it will be “paid for” by eliminating at least $500 billion is “waste and fraud” in Medicaid and other government run health care systems already in place.

Let’s review this as rational adults. First, if the current government health care programs have $500 Billion in “waste and fraud”, how can any rational being decide that vastly increasing the government’s role in health care is a good idea?

Second, wouldn’t the first rational step be to clean up and recover that $500 Billion in “waste and fraud” in the current government systems in order to gain the trust of the American people before the federal government tries to take over 7% of the US economy?

Our Dear Leader and the so-called democrat “leadership” in Congress are doing neither of these.  Instead, they have tried to rush socialized medicine through the House and the Senate as quickly as possible, before the American people would have a chance to see what was being done to them.  Fortunately for the American people, that failed.

Grass roots opposition directly from the American people appears to have killed that 1000 page house bill that had so much wrong with it. That was a win for the American people and a loss for the far left extremist democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

Holocaust Museum killer was a Socialist (i.e. leftist)

Friday, June 12th, 2009

Well folks, the elderly anti-Semite who open fire at the Washington, D.C. Holocaust Museum and killed a security guard is an admitted Socialist (i.e. a leftist) who in addition to hating Jews (like our Dear Leader’s spiritual advisor, the Rev. Wright), he hated NeoCons, he hated Fox News commentator Bill O’Reilly, he hated the conservative Weekly Standard magazine, and like liberal poster propagandist Michael Moore, he hated corporations and thought that the Islamofascist terror attacks on 9/11/2001 were “an inside job.”

Here is the kicker, despite these known facts about the leftist behavior of James von Brunn, who is likely a registered democrat to boot, the far left, including the talking heads at MSNBC are going to claim that this guy is a “right winger” despite the clear truth of the matter. Not that the truth ever mattered to the far left anyway.

Obama’s spirital advisor of 20 years blames the Jews

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

Ok, when I heard that an elderly anti-Semitic bigot who blames the US for 9/11 just shot up the Holocaust Museum, Rev. Wright did spring to mind. (wait for it…)

Well, Rev. Wright, who is a anti-Semite of long standing, who blames the US Government for the 9/11/2001 attacks and believes that the US Government created AIDS to kill black people, has been in the News lately. He has been quoted in the Daily Press as saying “Them Jews aren’t going to let him talk to me.” The him he is referring to is none other than our Dear Leader, who attended Wright’s racist and anti-Semitic church for twenty years.

Where the New York Times gets its talking points from

Monday, May 18th, 2009

Liberal NY Times columnist Maureen Dowd was caught lifting her leftist talking points directly, word for word, from a far hard left extremist blog.

Color me not surprised.

A former leftist joins reality and makes amends.

Monday, May 11th, 2009

From the American Thinker, a Letter of Amends from a Recovering Berkeley leftist.
Here are some of the highlights.

To my cousin Joe for calling you a traitor when you became an MBA, started holding a real job (as opposed to most of us Berkeley types who are psychotherapists, massage therapists and aromatherapists), and became a conservative, my bad.

To my goddaughter whom I told when she was l0 years old that Republicans were bad, Democrats were good (yes I really did say this), and who got confused and tearful because she lives in a suburb where most people are Republicans, kid, what in the world was I thinking?

To my leftist friends, with whom I agreed that 9/ll was the US’s fault, you and I were all such jerks.

To those potential friends whom I dumped when I found out you were conservative, your gain is my loss.

In February of 2008, I saw a new client, a bright and sensitive young woman who came in looking like she just escaped a war zone. In some ways she had; she had innocently shared with others at her job that she voted for Hillary rather than Obama. Immediately she was being targeted for abuse that put her in fear for not only her job, but her life.

We both suddenly became aware that something had grown really dark in the Democratic Party. I started hearing about many other incidents where loyal Democrats were being physically and emotionally threatened for supporting Hillary. A woman in Berkeley had her front window broken because it displayed a poster of Hillary.

When Geraldine Ferraro ran for Vice President, there was no debasement of her character, no sexual threats. But with Palin, a full scale “wilding” ensued that chillingly reminded me of the random sexual attacks on women by gangs of men in New York. She was called every vile name in the book by both male and female liberals.

Actress Sarah Bernhardt hoped a gang of black males would rape her. When Palin’s church was torched with children inside, the press was missing in action (somehow I imagine the press would have been all over this if Obama’s church were torched). Not only was the misogyny disgusting, but the classism was abhorrent. The Democrats, by ridiculing Palin’s voice and her education, were acting like arrogant snobs. The party had changed, I had changed, and the differences looked irreconcilable.

The peace and love and flower power of the old left was dead and gone (if it even existed to begin with except in my imagination). The Democrats had morphed into a power hungry Thought Police, and I was done with them. My new motto in life: don’t PC on me.

To use an old phrase, this classic liberal got mugged by the reality of where the far left has taken his party. He didn’t leave the democrat party, the democrat party left him as it moved to the extreme far left.

Quote of the day

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

“…status is not the American Conservative position. Rather, conservatives believe that change for change’s sake is folly. What kind of change? At what cost? For the liberals and progressives, everything was expendable, from tradition to individualism to “outdated” conceptions of freedom. These were all tired dogmas to be burned on the alters of the new age.”

Jonah Goldberg, Liberal Fascism: The Secret History of the American Left from Mussolini to the Politics of Meaning.

Dr. Pournelle points out a sad fact about this book and the majority of those who study political science:

Goldberg’s book is an anomaly: serious students of political science shouldn’t find anything here they didn’t already know. Alas, I had to say “shouldn’t”, because a very great number of people who consider themselves serious students of political science will be shocked and astonished to discover that Fascism, Progressivism, and modern American Liberalism have many intellectual roots in common. Roosevelt’s New Deal incorporated many elements of Italian Fascism, and in fact before the mid-30’s many Western statesmen had admiring things to say about Fascism and about Il Duce Mussolini who made the trains run on time and brought prosperity — or its illusion — to Italy. Goldberg documents all this as well as the Jacobin roots of both Fascism and Progressivism. The notion that human life can be improved by central planning and tinkering with the legal and economic system is the common thread to them all.
