In St. Louis, a Tea Party protest was planned, 600 people were expected to show up. In reality 2,225 people showed up! A grassroots movement in action.

Also in St. Louis, there was a small amount of leftist Astroturfing.  The so called “coffee party” met for a bit of “latte liberal” whining.  A whopping thirty people, including the people who were already at the restaurant and the tea party infiltrators.

“The reason the first three Star Wars movies were so terrific, and the second three sucked so bad, is actually very simple. The first three were about rebels, shooting guns and driving fast, and speaking with American accents. The second three were about politicians, discussing treaties and holding court, and speaking with British accents.”

Obama puts a stop to the popular off shore drilling option

Barbara Hollingsworth reports in the DC Examiner:

The Obama administration’s six-month delay in approving new offshore drilling leases in federal waters will become a new three-year ban, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar quietly told reporters last Friday. Which means that no new oil and gas leases will be approved during President Obama’s term even though two –thirds of the American public supports such activity, according to a December 2009 Rasmussen poll.

“Secretary Salazar has finally confirmed what had long been feared – that the Obama Administration has no intention of opening up new areas for offshore drilling during his four-years in office,” said Rep. Doc Hastings, the ranking Republican on the House Natural Resources Committee.

So for the next three years and probably more, trillions of dollars in domestic energy assets will remain untouched while billions of dollars more are spent on foreign oil.

Clearly, as in the Health Care “debate”, our Dear Leader has absolutely no interest in what the American People, whom he was elected to represent, care about in a vitally important subject.   The President’s ban on domestic energy sources also tells us that he has no interest in halting rising energy costs or taking any steps toward improving the economy.  Opening up these resources will immediately create  many “shovel ready” good paying jobs, providing a short term benefit to the economy as well as long term benefits.  Why is our Dear Leader opposed to actually improving the US economy?

House Speaker Pelosi needs a few basic civics classes

San Fran Nan (a.k.a. Nancy Pelosi, democrat – San Francisco & Speaker of the US House of Representatives) has said that Congress needs to pass ObamaCare so that the public can find out what’s in the bill.

Reality to democrat Speaker of the House Pelosi: Tell the people first, and then they will tell their Representatives in Congress if they want them to vote for it. That is how the system works.

What is in that bill that you are so afraid of the American People finding out?

HT to IMAO for the video.

What the MSM isn’t telling you about the Pentagon Shooter.

CNN has a long, detailed story about John Patrick Bedell, the fellow who traveled across the country in order to open fire at guards at an entrance to the Pentagon.

What that long, detailed story leaves out is any mention that Bedell is a registered democrat, a 9/11 conspiracy theorist, and a rabid left wing liberal who hates former President George W. Bush.

Don’t expect to hear that particular bit of truth to be utter at MSNBC, ABC or CBS “News.” It doesn’t fit their particular brand of reality.

The Culture of Corruption Marches On…

We still have the ongoing saga of tax cheat and democrat congressman from New York, Charles Rangel.

Now we have our Dear Leader handing out federal judgeships in an attempt to buy votes in his own party for his massively unpopular Obamacare Charlie Fox.  As Ms. Malkin says, it looks like a quid pro quo, smells like a quid pro quo, and quacks like a quid pro quo.

This is either a clear case of flat out corruption or the Obama administration is so dangerously incompetent that they didn’t see the connection between this key vote and an federal judgeship appointment.   Either way, it’s not good for America.

Wait! It gets better! The Obama administration has claimed that it is “Anti-Lobbyist”, has hired leftist lobbyists to sell their green jobs platform, dispute the facts that show that the investments in those technologies in other countries have not resulted in job growth.

Excuse me, I was channeling Gary Trudeau there for a moment.

Congressman Charles Rangel, democrat from New York, has been found guilty of “knowingly accepted Caribbean trips in violation of House rules that forbid hidden financing by corporations.”

Now this is just the House “Ethics” Committee, not an actual criminal trial, so don’t expect much of anything to happen to Rangel.

Keep this in mind though. Rangel is also under investigation for repeated violations of the federal tax code.  Congressman Rangel (corrupt democrat from New York), is Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. That is the Committee that is responsible for the bulk of the laws on the tax code.

Even given the findings of the House “Ethics” Committee, Rangel is not stepping down from his leadership position on the Ways and Means Committee.  That is pretty much all you need to know about the level of contempt the democrat party holds the American tax payer in.

Update: More at Michelle Malkin’s blog. My favorite from the comments:

I predict Rangel will be appointed “Ethics Czar” by the Obama administration.

Update: The democrats embarrassing, and hypocritical, double standard on ethics violations.

Update: Gay Patriot has details on the so-called “the most ethical Congress ever” and it’s mismanagement by Pelosi.

Yet another democrat who doesn’t pay taxes

This time it is a big democrat party fundraiser who paid ZERO state and federal taxes on annual income of $108 million dollars.

This is not an isolated incident. Democrats don’t seem to mind raising taxes because they don’t plan on paying any taxes.
