Obama “Budget”: $1.1 Trillion in new taxes

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

BOHICA America!  Our Dear Leader is proposing $1.1 Trillion in new taxes. Kiss any idea of an economic recovery anytime soon goodbye!

Before you Fiscal Conservatives start complaining, remember that democrat House “leader” Nancy Pelosi needs your money so her family can fly on Air Force jets to avoid dealing with rabble like you.

Update: To go with that $1.1 Trillion in new taxes is $1.6 Trillion in new debt! Is this the Change you were Hoping for?  Probably not.

ObamaSpeak vs Websters Dictionary

Monday, September 21st, 2009

Kudos for George Stephanopoulos for asking a question that our Dear Leader clearly hadn’t vetted.  The White House will try and punish him for it, but as a former White House communications director himself, Stephanopoulos figures it’s probably worth the hit.

Let’s go to the video.

Stephanopoulos challenges our Dear Leader on his proposed tax on those who won’t sign up for government mandated health care, and our Harvard Law School educated President replies with ‘who are you going to believe? Me or that lying Webster’s Dictionary?’

Here is the money quote:

Stephanopoulos: “Under this mandate, the government is forcing people to spend money, fining you if you don’t. How is that not a tax?”

Obama: ” No, but — but, George, you — you can’t just make up that language and decide that that’s called a tax increase.”

Stephanopoulos: “I don’t think I’m making it up. Merriam-Webster’s dictionary: ‘Tax, a charge, usually of money, imposed by authority on persons or property for public purposes.'”

BHO can parse words in a manner that would embarrass Billy Jeff ‘It depends on what the meaning of is is” Clinton, but it won’t change the fact that his argument that the fine isn’t a tax is still fundamentally a lie.

The model for ObamaCare is the Massachusetts system, in which the state Internal Revenue Service determines if you have health care or not and adds any ‘fines’ to your state tax bill.

Losing your base

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

Politically, that is a bad thing to do. President G.W. Bush and the GOP acted like they were intentionally out to piss off their fiscally conservative, Libertarian leaning base for most of his time in the White House. Clearly, that strategy didn’t work out too well for them, loosing both houses of Congress and the White House.

Now it seems that our Dear Leader is following yet another bad example set by former President G.W. Bush, i.e. pissing off his base. A lot of the really far left moonbat wackos aren’t happy because he isn’t putting enough admitted communists in positions of power and now it seems that classic liberal, minivan driving, soccer moms are starting to get pissed off our Dear Leader raiding their kids, and future grandkids, college funds through out of control spending and taxes.

Tea Party Attending Liberal Soccer Mom

I’m betting that the owner of this minivan voted for our Dear Leader and isn’t happy with how that turned out.

The headline the MSM will never run

Friday, May 15th, 2009

President Obama says, “The Tea Party protesters were right!”

That is the headline the MSM won’t run. The only part of it that isn’t true, is that our Dear Leader didn’t have the testicular fortitude to come out and say it.
What he did say is exactly what the tea party protesters were complaining about:

President Barack Obama, calling current deficit spending “unsustainable,” warned of skyrocketing interest rates for consumers if the U.S. continues to finance government by borrowing from other countries.
“We can’t keep on just borrowing from China,” Obama said at a town-hall meeting in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, outside Albuquerque. “We have to pay interest on that debt, and that means we are mortgaging our children’s future with more and more debt.”

Holders of U.S. debt will eventually “get tired” of buying it, causing interest rates on everything from auto loans to home mortgages to increase, Obama said. “It will have a dampening effect on our economy.”

Kim Priestap points out the extreme hypocrisy of BHO’s behavior.

What a joke. Obama sends our deficit and debt levels into the stratosphere, and he has the nerve to actually lecture us about how dangerous that is. That is what the tea parties were all about. Hundreds of thousands of Americans took to the streets on April 15 to protest the outrageous spending the government has been doing under his watch, and what was his reaction? He ridiculed them. Then a few weeks later he goes to New Mexico and delivers a lecture about how irresponsible it is to spend money we don’t have. The gall.

Now that he has put us into the untenable position of having to borrow so much from China, he turns around and says we have to shore up health care. That means the government will spend even more money we don’t have to meddle in our lives.

That’s right kids, the Community Organizer in Chief is going to use this as an excuse to nationalize a large chunk of the National Economy. The same inefficient government hacks who run the Post Office
are going to be telling you what you can have for health care.

America elected a man with absolutely no executive experience what so ever and had never held a real job in his life. If you are surprised by his behavior, you haven’t been paying attention.

Massachusetts Legislature to Citizens: Screw You.

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

In state well know for out of control government spending, corruption, and general inefficiency, our completely out of touch reality and massively democrat majority legislature has decided to raise the sales tax from 5% to 6.25%.

Even our clueless “Cadillac of Governors” has figured out that this is a bad idea and threated to veto it. So his democrat allies in the State House responded by passing the bill with a veto proof majority.

BHO’s slap in the face to America

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

Hundreds of thousands of Americans protested against massive government spending and the crushing federal debt, and our Dear Leader responded by getting his entire cabinet to cut about half of what BHO spend on his inauguration.

Let’s put this in perspective. This is the equivalent of a family with an annual income of $60,000 cutting $6 out of their budget.

The Spin Meter points out a few examples of just how small the President’s gesture is:

$100 million amounts to:

–Less than one-quarter of the budget increase that Congress awarded to itself.

–Less than half the cost of one F-22 fighter plane.

–7 percent of the federal subsidy for the money-losing Amtrak passenger rail system.

–1/10,000th of the government’s operating budgets for Cabinet agencies, excluding the Iraq and Afghan wars and the stimulus bill.

Oh, and if you thought he was asking for new cuts, guess again.

Many of the savings he asked them to achieve are already under way and are included in the calculation.

So what we have is an empty promise and a massive government spending spree, unparalleled in American History, and a crushing debt our grandchildren will still be paying off.

Is this the “Hope & Change” you were expecting?

Update: While our Dear Leader makes empty gestures at “cutting costs”, he’s printing up more money to spend outside the US. In this case $100 Billion for the International Monetary Fund. You remember the IMF, that’s the organization that reimbursed tax cheat and Secretary of the Treasury Tim Geithner for taxes he never planned on paying.

Ten Top Reasons to scrap the Tax Code

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

Freedomworks.com sums it up nicely.

Adam Smith famously noted in the Wealth of Nations that complex tax codes are “more burdensome to the people than they are beneficial to the sovereign.” Our tax code is broken. It’s unfair, complex, inhibits saving, investment and job creation, imposes a heavy burden on families, and undermines the integrity of the democratic process. We should scrap it and rebuild a simple, low, flat, fair, and honest tax code.

Here is the list:
1. THE CODE IS TOO COMPLEX.
2. THE CODE IS BEYOND COMPREHENSION.
3. THE IRS IS TOO BIG.
4. THE CODE CORRUPTS THE CULTURE IN WASHINGTON. DC.
5. THE CODE TAXES SOME INCOME TWO OR MORE TIMES.
6. CONGRESS USES THE TAX CODE TO LEGISLATE MORALITY.
7. HIGH MARGINAL TAX RATES PENALIZE SUCCESS.
8. COMPLYING WITH THE CODE COSTS AMERICANS BILLIONS.
9. THE CODE DRIVES POLITICAL DONATIONS
10. LAWS SHOULD REST ON PRINCIPLES OF JUSTICE.

Stop by and read the whole thing.

Cap and Tax

Monday, March 30th, 2009

Our Dear Leader‘s so-called “Cap and Trade” program is really a “Cap and Tax” program that is going to suck more money from the paychecks of every American.

This energy tax is going to hit the poorest the hardest, since they pay the largest percentage of their income on energy costs (electricity, heating and transportation).

White House sources have admitted that this will be an average increase of $1,800 per family!

President Obama’s energy tax plan — a version of the failed European “cap and trade” global warming fiasco — may cost families $1,800 yearly in higher utility bills, far exceeding his promised $800 a year tax cut for 95% of Americans.

While campaigning, Obama admitted that his energy plan would cause electric bills to “skyrocket.” President Obama’s energy tax plan — a version of the failed European “cap and trade” global warming fiasco — may cost families $1,800 yearly in higher utility bills, far exceeding his promised $800 a year tax cut for 95% of Americans.

So when Candidate Obama said that Americans making less than $250,000 a year would not see any new taxes, he was lying! Get used to it folks. It’s a long way until January 20, 2013.
