Factual Observations about the US Federal Debt

Tuesday, March 6th, 2012

Let’s look at this data and what it shows.

• The vaunted “Clinton Surplus” was, in fact, the work of a GOP House that was willing to fight for fiscal sanity (current Ohio Governor John Kasich was one of the architects of the surplus); in addition, two events conspired toturbocharge the economy — in spite of Clinton, not because of him.

• Liberals like to talk about Reagan’s deficits, but they ignore the fact that every budget Reagan ever sent to the Democrat-controlled House was declared “dead on arrival”. Reagan supported a Balanced Budget Amendment, sought to eliminate useless agencies like the Department of Education, and otherwise believed in the U.S. spending within its means.

• Since the Democrats took control of Congress in 2007, they have jammed through the most fiscally irresponsible spending programs in world history (I won’t use the word “budget”, because they’ve refused to propose a budget for roughly 1,029 days).

In short, Democrats never propose less spending than Republicans — unless we’re talking about defense. And now, after four years of Democrat-controlled spending, the federal government is forced to borrow 40 cents for every dollar it spends.

Gas at $6 a Gallon. Is this change you were hoping for?

Thursday, February 23rd, 2012

It’s official, gas has hit $5.999 in Florida, which for those of you with poor math skills, is $6.

Despite what that lying hack of a White House Press Secretary says, this is a direct result of our Dear Leader’s policies, including his monetary policies.

Just how is that Hopey Changey thing working out for ya?

Obama’s Energy Policy

Saturday, January 21st, 2012

Let’s review our Dear Leader’s Energy Policy.

He killed the Keystone pipeline, killing thousands of jobs and putting America’s energy supply at risk.

He had his eye on Brazilian oil, but it looks like the Communist Chinese are going to be on the fast track to get it.

Obama Forbids Uranium Mining on Federal Lands In Arizona for Next 20 Years

North Dakota Stuck Using More-Costly Railroads to Move Oil. “Right now, about 25% of North Dakota’s oil travels by rail. According to the CBS News report that ‘will increase exponentially with increased oil production and the shortage of pipelines.’”

Our Dear Leader is clearly against any  proven technology and isn’t as really into alternate technology as his leftist supporters wish he was.  His history with alternate technology more in line with Solyndra, which was much more of a political payoff than a good investment of taxpayer money.

Update: The Obama EPA is shutting down an oil refinery that will likely drive up gas prices in the Northeast.  Higher energy prices is a goal of the Obama regime, so no one who has been paying attention should be surprised by this.

Business & Politics

Thursday, November 24th, 2011

Usually not a good mix for conversation, and certainly not a good mix where our Dear Leader is concerned.

His job killing policies are striking home at small businesses, which are usually the engine that drives job growth.

One small business has publicly stated it is in a hiring freeze until Obama is out of office.  It’s not that they don’t want to hire, it is just that they can’t afford to between an economy where inflation is double the economic growth and oppressive government regulations drive the cost of doing business up.

Another important indicator is the falling support of blue collar democrats for the President. This was core demographic for him back in 2008. Without their support, his odds in 2012 are being coming even more anorexic.

Quote of the Day

Saturday, November 19th, 2011

Ann Barnhardt, former hedge fund manger gets right to the point:

A firm, led by a crony of the Obama regime, stole all of the non-margined cash held by customers of his firm. Let’s not sugar-coat this or make this crime seem “complex” and “abstract” by drowning ourselves in six-dollar words and uber-technical jargon. Jon Corzine STOLE the customer cash at MF Global.

Read the whole thing. It is refreshingly, and brutally honest.

The old school democrat method to reduce the deficit

Tuesday, September 20th, 2011

Let us set the Way Back Machine to 1962, when a democrat President presented his plan to create jobs and economic spur growth.

That’s right, dear readers, President Kennedy called for across the board tax cuts and tax reform in order to create jobs, grow the economy, and increase federal revenue.

Unlike our Dear Leader‘s plan of jacking taxes through the roof, President Kennedy’s plan was successful.

“Tax revenues climbed from $94 billion in 1961 to $153 billion in 1968, an increase of 62 percent (33 percent after adjusting for inflation).”

Three years of Obama “promises” on jobs

Saturday, September 10th, 2011

Perhaps the majority of those who have opposed our Dear Leader since he first appeared on the national scene are right, he is dangerously incompetent, and is completely lacking in any private sector experience.

AP fact checks Obama’s speech and finds it comes up short on actual facts

Friday, September 9th, 2011

Here is the fact checking article in full.  I’ll just list some of the highlights

Essentially, the jobs plan is an IOU from a president and lawmakers who may not even be in office down the road when the bills come due. Today’s Congress cannot bind a later one for future spending. A future Congress could simply reverse it.

THE FACTS: It’s hard to see how the program would not raise the deficit over the next year or two because most of the envisioned spending cuts and tax increases are designed to come later rather than now, when they could jeopardize the fragile recovery.

THE FACTS: Not all of the president’s major proposals are likely to yield quick job growth if adopted. One is to set up a national infrastructure bank to raise private capital for roads, rail, bridges, airports and waterways. Even supporters of such a bank doubt it could have much impact on jobs in the next two years because it takes time to set up.

Bottom line, our Dear Leader asked for more of his failed policies.  More and more of the American people, especially registered voters, are seeing the truth behind his rhetoric.

The simple truth behind the “porkulus” acts

Thursday, August 11th, 2011

“The stimulus passed in February of 2009 didn’t go to shovel ready projects. Instead it propped up state and local governments that were broke. What didn’t go to governments was spent on projects without any regard for their return on investment. For example, green light bulb research might be a neat concept, but the short term return on investment is 0. You might even believe that green light bulb research will have positive economic effects in the future-but stimulus is designed to help us today so it’s still a stupid way to spend government dollars. Even if you think stimulus can work, it doesn’t because of politics. This phenomena occurs no matter which party is in charge.”

Jeff Carter nailing it shut.

Mr. Carter goes on to present a simple, proven method used by both democrat & Republican Presidents to stimulate economic growth and job creation.  A method that won’t be used as long as our Dear Leader is in the White House and Harry Reid and the democrats control the Senate.  It goes against their so-called “progressive” policies, which they will blindly cling to regardless of how much damage they cause the country.
