More Obama Off Shoring

The prime example of Obama sending US jobs off shore is how the US now pays the Russians to get our Astronauts on and off our own orbital space station.
Now Mark Steyn has another example:
Liberals are always going on about the evils of “outsourcing” and “offshoring” – selfish vulture capitalists like Mitt Romney shipping jobs to cheap labor overseas just to save a few bucks. How unpatriotic can you get! So now the United States government is outsourcing embassy security to cheap Welshmen who, in turn, outsource it to cheaper Libyans. Diplomatic facilities are U.S. sovereign territory – no different de jure from Fifth Avenue or Mount Rushmore. So defending them is one of the core responsibilities of the state. But that’s the funny thing about Big Government: the bigger it gets, the more of life it swallows up, the worse it gets at those very few things it’s supposed to be doing. So, on the first anniversary of 9/11 in a post-revolutionary city in which Western diplomats had been steadily targeted over the previous six months, the government of the supposedly most powerful nation on Earth entrusted its security to Abdulaziz Majbari, 29, and his pal, who report to some bloke back in Carmarthen, Wales. In the days before the attack, Joe Biden had been peddling his Obama campaign slogan that: “Bin Laden is dead, and General Motors is alive.” The first successful terrorist attack on U.S. sovereign territory since 9/11, and on the very anniversary and by al-Qaida-linked killers, was not helpful to the Obama team. And so the nature of the event had to be “politicized”: Look, over there – an Islamophobic movie! “Greater love hath no man than this,” quoth the President at Chris Stevens’ coffin, “that a man lay down his life for his friends.” Smaller love hath no man than Obama’s, than to lay down his “friend” for a couple of points in Ohio.
Yup, the Obama regime replaced US security forces with local “militias” in Benghazi, where a US Ambassador was killed in a planned terrorist attack. HT to Ed Driscoll for the Mark Steyn quote.
Another example is Mexican Billionaire and big Obama donor, Carlos Slim, who is getting richer with every Obama Phone the regime gives out, paid for by the rapidly decreasing number of Americans who pay federal taxes.

Here is another example of fiscal mismanagement by the Obama regime: GM (Government Motors) ramps Up Risky Subprime Auto Loans To Drive Sales.
Let’s review recent history, it was the federal government policy of forcing record numbers of subprime housing loans that lead to the last fiscal crisis. A policy formed by the so-called “Community Reinvestment Act” that was put in place and defended by the far left wing of the democrat party.
Can anyone see the subprime auto loan market turning out any better than the subprime home loan market?

Why is the left against fighting vote fraud?

One would think that our federal government would all for protecting the basic civil rights of American citizens by aggressively fighting voter fraud.
This is not under the Obama regime. Let us review several examples.
First, our Dear Leader’s so-called “Justice Department” has stopped the state of Florida from removing dead people from the voter rolls. Really. You can’t make this stuff up. Investors Business Daily has an article on the topic that sums the problem nicely.
Washington has ordered Florida to end its effort to remove ineligible voters from the state’s voter rolls. This is breathtaking. It couldn’t be clearer that the government is actively promoting voter fraud.
Somehow, the DOJ has determined that purging illegal voters — felons, noncitizens, the deceased — from the rolls is a violation of the 1965 Voting Rights Act as well as the 1993 National Voter Registration Act. According to the Miami Herald, the department’s lead civil rights attorney, T. Christian Herren Jr., sent the state “a detailed two-page letter” on Thursday demanding that Florida’s elections division shut down its pursuit.

What’s missing from Herren’s complaint is the fact that no one is actually moved off the rolls until they are found to be ineligible. Simply sending names to county elections supervisors to confirm eligibility, which is what Florida officials are doing, discriminates against no one. Either the person is eligible to vote or not.
No one is harassed or summarily tossed off the voter rolls. There is no poll tax or literacy test.
Why is the Obama administration afraid of purging the dead from the active voter rolls?
RightGirl points out that when actually shown evidence of how easy voter fraud is, the Obama administration’s so called “Justice Department” ignores the problem.
Oh, we have found one case where democrats are not calling a requirement to show a photo ID in order to vote. Their own state party convention in Massachusetts.

“It is true that “Republicans and Democrats” approved a green energy loan guarantee program. But “Republicans and Democrats” did not approve this loan guarantee program. As FactCheck.org reminds us, the program under which Solyndra was handed $500 million in taxpayer money was authorized in the Obama/Reid/Pelosi partisan “stimulus” bill of 2009. Zero House Republicans voted for that law. Also, a previous Solyndra loan application was explicitly rejected by Bush-era actuaries because of its inherent soundness problems. Some of Obama’s bookkeepers continued to warn against its approval, but they were overruled by the White House political team because the president’s allies were determined to make the company the “poster child” of his green vision. That’s also why Obama ignored internal worries and held a big presidential photo-op at Solyndra’s (now-defunct) factory. The list goes on: Obama DOE officials sat in on Solyndra board meetings. One of Solyndra’s top investors, George Kaiser — who just happened to be a major Obama campaign donor — also just happened to make a flurry of White House visits right before the doomed loan was given the thumbs-up. Kaiser and the White House claimed they didn’t discuss Solyndra during those meetings. They lied. We also know that even after Solyndra defaulted on its initial loan, Obama’s Energy Department conveniently restructured the loan terms, assuring that investors like George Kaiser would be first in line to get paid if (when) the company went belly-up. Obama owns this mess, and he knows it. But he’s obfuscating and dissembling to save his own skin.”
