Nerd Eye Candy
A Panorama of the new Enterprise bridge.
Warning! It’s new movie Enterprise bridge, so purists beware.
Don’t get too worked up over it kids. Even James Cawley has has said he likes it. It’s not what he would do, but ya, it’s cool.
Update: Brently Irving Sienna was right, it looks like an Apple computer threw up to create the bridge set. 🙂
Monday Book Pick – The Peshawar Lancers
The Peshawar Lancers by S.M. Stirling
A fine example of the alternate history sub-genre of Science Fiction. The change in history occurred in 1878, when a series of asteroid strikes caused a “nuclear winter” effect. As a new Ice Age quickly over ran Europe, the British Empire relocated their seat of power to Imperial India. It’s a “rousing good adventure”, complete with Airships and large, steam powered mechanical Difference Engine type computing devices.
Friday B-Movie Pick: The Thirteenth Floor
A great flick that pokes at the concepts of reality. Before you Matrix nerds start howling, this movie is based on a book that predates that.
Ya, I know it’s Saturday, so I’m a day late.

Monday Book Pick – Citizen of the Galaxy
Another classic by the Grandmaster of Science Fiction, Robert A. Heinlein.
Friday B-Movie Pick – Spaceballs
Yup, Mel Brooks takes on the Sci-Fi genre with Spaceballs.
Friday B-Movie Pick: Galaxy Quest
A must for Star Trek fans. A cutting parady done with a lotta love. It pokes fun at the show, the cast and the fans.
It’s this week’s pick because I saw the new Star Trek film last night. Yes, I liked it. It grabbed you quick and didn’t let go. The casting was top notch and the actors clearly were paying homage to the original cast.
