“Some folks ask me what the transition was like from NASCAR reporter to political reporter. It’s easy. In one, you try to explain to your readers the significance of grown-ups getting paid exorbitant amounts of money to around in circles indefinitely, always turning left. In the other, you get to interview racecar drivers.”

— Mary Katharine Ham

“You probably thought Trump was the bigot in this contest, until Clinton called half of Trump’s supporters a “basket of deplorables.” That’s the point at which observers started to see a pattern. Trump has been consistently supportive of American citizens of all types – with the exception of the press and his political opponents. The main targets of Trump’s rhetoric are the nations that compete against us. In stark contrast, Clinton turned her hate on American citizens. That’s the real kind of hate. Trump is more about keeping America safe and competing effectively in the world. That is literally the job of president.”

“…Hillary Clinton has revealed herself to be frail, medicated, and probably duplicitous about her health. We also hear reports that she’s a drinker with a bad temper. Suddenly, Clinton looks like the unstable personality in this race. Who do you want controlling the nuclear arsenal now?”

“I am for a government rigorously frugal & simple, applying all the possible savings of the public revenue to the discharge of the national debt; and not for a multiplication of officers & salaries merely to make partisans, & for increasing, by every device, the public debt, on the principle of it’s being a public blessing.”

— Thomas Jefferson, third President of the United States of America

“Must be encouraging to Jihadists all over the world: they can murder our people on our soil, and our President will blame the GOP and NRA.”

“Gun control laws are like OSHA for criminals. When criminals have guns and their victims don’t, crime becomes a safer occupation. In some countries with strict gun-control laws, burglars enter houses while people are still at home several times as often as that happens in the United States.”

— Thomas Sowell

“Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it. ”

— President Ronald Reagan, who predicted our Dear Leader‘s methods well in advance

“Liberal racism is nothing new, of course — in fact, it’s perfectly normal. Drive around white Los Angeles all day and you will rarely, if ever, see a black face, and the only Mexicans you’ll encounter will be maids and gardeners. “Diversity,” it seems, is for other people”

Michael Walsh

Double shot QotD!

“‘Hate speech’ is a made-up term used to justify censorship. It’s an un-American idea, used by anti-American people. It’s a marker for fascism.” — Glenn Reynolds

“I think the notion that we should treat pole dancing like constitutionally protected free speech while we try to ban actual political speech is just one of the loopiest manifestations of our popular confusion over the First Amendment.” — Jonah Goldberg

Both of these statements refer to what I have often said.  The progressive left really doesn’t like the concept of Free Speech.  They want to make any speech they disagree with illegal.  They use Orwell’s 1984 as a training manual, instead of the warning it was meant to be.

Buck Sexton nailed it shut:

“Netanyahu wins; Hamas, Hezbollah, Iranian mullahs, and the [Obama] White House are totally bummed about it.

Let that sink in.”

The implications of that accurate statement are left as an exercise to the reader.
