I’m waiting for the oscillation overthruster to show up.

Butterfly Swords

I picked up a set of practice Butterfly Swords, steel ones, not the lightweight aluminum ones.

These are really fun! They come in pairs, one for each hand, and are pretty heavy for their size. Using them is an upper body workout in itself!

They are not a common weapon system in most martial arts. They come from a Southern Kung Fu tradition. I’ve only seen reference to them in Hung Gar and Wing Chun. Here is a Wing Chun form I found.

Question of the Day

What is the left has against simple debate? If you dare mention that the narco-civil war in Mexico is creating a security problem along the US/Mexico border, they shut down and call you a racist.

Fact one: It’s not about race.

Fact two: Mexico has been in the midst of a violent narco-civil war for years! It’s one of the reasons average Mexicans risk life and limb to come to America!

Fact three: Many Americans would be a lot less concerned about illegal immigration from Mexico if the narco-civil war stayed south of the border. Look up the kidnapping rating in Phoenix, AZ if you think the drug gangs haven’t crossed the boarder into the US.

It’s not that difficult to grasp. The problem is slightly more complicated than than the leftists would like it be, but not by much. Is it asking too much for liberals to step up to the intellectual plate on this subject?

Even the Obama administration admits the violence problem, although in a very quiet manner they hope nobody will notice.

My personal credo as a libertarian conservative: I think all attempts to reform your fellow-citizens or tell them how to live their lives are arrogant and tyrannical. THAT’S why I oppose Leftism. I want people to be free to manage their own lives. “Reform” is just authoritarianism. People are not playthings for anybody’s theories or obsessions.

While our Dear Leader was on his numerous summer vacations, the Oval Office got a make over, including a new rug.

The rug has numerous quotes woven into, including one they attribute to a famous Republican, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King:

“The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.”

The problem is that while, Dr. King used this quote on numerous occasions, he never claimed it as his own, instead correctly attributing it to a Massachusetts abolitionist by the name of Theodore Parker.

The fact that Barry and his staff got it wrong is hardly surprising.  One thing we have learned about our Dear Leader is that he is not that much of a reader and is not very intellectually curious.

Friday B-Movie: Kick Ass

Kick Ass

Not your typical comic book hero movie. None of the “super heros” have any powers (well, Kick Ass comes the closest, but his “powers” just allow him to take and survive your more than average ass kicking). The title hero is just an everyday high school kid who decides that he has had enough and does something about it. More than a bit violent at time, but it about putting the hurt on bad guys. The character Hit Girl steals the show though.

When democrats Attack!

Time for another exciting chapter of “When democrats Attack!”

Let us start with a bit of “blue on blue” action.

Rep. Carnahan, democrat from Missouri, had his office firebombed.  Of course, the open minded and tolerant liberals blamed someone from the “Tea Party,” despite there being absolutely no history of violence from that group.

So, who actually firebombed the offices of the democrat from Missouri? Well, it turns out that it was one of his own staffers, a liberal democrat by the name of Chris Powers.

Let’s follow that up with a NYC leftist stabbing a Muslim cabdriver in the neck for…wait for it…being a Muslim!

Big HT to Gateway Pundit for these stories the DNC/MSM won’t carry.

Just to round out the Hat Trick, here is another GP story about an open minded and tolerant leftist who verbally attacked an 82 year old Holocaust survivor.  The  open minded and tolerant leftist said that the 82 year old Holocaust survivor “obviously didn’t learn his lesson.”

Obama knew his policies would kill jobs in the Gulf

23,000 jobs killed by our Dear Leader in the hard hit Gulf Coast.

It’s been very clear that improving the economy has not a priority of Barry or the democrat controlled congress.

That raises the question of just what is our Dear Leader‘s top priority?

It’s not the economy, or transparency, or an ethical government.

His personal goal is pretty clear, improving his golf game.
