Another component of Sander’s speeches

I’ve mentioned before that Sander’s stump speeches on the topic of immigration are even more hard lined, on both legal and illegal immigration, than Donald Trump’s stance on the subject.

There are two other common themes to a Sander’s speech.

The first sounds a lot like Bill Clinton’s 1992 campaign. One of the major catch phrases of that campaign was, “It’s the economy, stupid!” The brilliant James Carville gets credit for that. For those of you who don’t remember the early 1990’s, in Q492, when the election was held, the US had just come out of a recession. When the President at the time, George H.W. Bush, correctly stated that the recession was over, and the recovery was starting, the Clinton team would go into full attack mode, calling him a liar. Since the recovery had just started, the effects were not wildly felt. This tactic was wildly successful for Clinton, especially since the economy really was starting to recover, and he got to take credit for something that was already happening after he took office.

Bernie Sanders is pounding the pulpit and telling people not to believe the economic news coming from the Obama White House. Obama is telling you that unemployment is 5.6%, and Bernie is telling it’s 10.7%. Thing is that they are both quoting the current federal Bureau of Labor Statistics numbers. Barry is using the more commonly used U3 number. Bernie is using the U6 number, which is considered by rational economist to be a more accurate indicator.

If you have read my previous posts about the Obama Economy, you would think I’m siding with Bernie on this. I have to admit, the self described Socialist does have a point. The so-called “recovery” has been going on for just over five years now, and it has been described everywhere from CNBC to NPR as “lackluster” and “jobless.” With a U3 of 5.6%, we should be damn close to “full employment”, yet the number of people not in the work force is at levels we haven’t seen since the deep recession of the late 1970s.  Barry’s policies have managed to kill most of the economic gain that you typically get coming out of a recession.

Just because Sanders may be right about our Dear Leader‘s handling of the economy, odds are he will screw it up even more with his socialist economic policies.

Quote of the day

“The earnestly naive Bernie Sanders is who the Democratic party wants to be. The corrupt and venal Hillary Clinton is who they are.”
—  AlphabetShoe

Let’s be honest here. Bernie Sanders may caucus with the democrats in the Senate, but he is not a member of the democrat party. The so called “mainstream media” calls him an “independant.” He calls himself a socialist. To be fair, about two thirds of the democrats in Congress are also members of the DSA. So Bernie just may be more honest than most of the congressional democrats.

Bernie Sanders’ stump speeches include statements about the US Mexico border and immigrants, legal and illegal, that make Trump sound like an open borders guy. I’ve seen this described as “nativist” behavior. That is a modern code word for nationalist. Bernie Sanders is a Nationlist Socialist who continously expresses his concern for the workers. If that is what you are looking for in a modern democrat, you need to review your early to mid 20th century history

Catching up

Catching up on a bunch of stuff that caught my eye on the Interwebs.

Poll data shows that liberals are less patriotic.  No surprise here.

In Obamerica, the DHS considers Americans who believe in the civil rights of the individual more dangerous than Islamofascists that actually kill Americans.

RESEARCHER REAFFIRMS: AT LEAST 760,000 DEFENSIVE GUN USES A YEAR.  “Gun Control” fanatics are in denial of the settled science.

The Obama  White House Says They Will Not Release IRS Documents On Tea Party Targeting…   Y’all know that the whole “most transparent administration ever” thing was just another lie Obama told to get the useful idiots to vote for him.  This is just another example of his flipping off the American people.

What is the difference between fascism and progressive ideology? If you don’t know the answer to this, you can probably blame a public school teacher who identifies as a progressive.  Both “are very hostile to individualism, especially in the field of economics.”

Favors to foundation donors stretch back to Hillary Clinton’s Senate days.  Corruption and the Clintons are old friends.

CIA releases memo showing agency blamed Bill Clinton for bankrupting war on terror ahead of 9/11.  There is a reason ABC has been pressured to never release The Path to 9/11 after the original, one time, airing.

Flight Logs Confirm Clinton and Dershowitz Flew on Pedophile Billionaire’s Sex Jet.  Of course there is a blackout of this on most of the so-called “main stream” media.  On the other hand, this is Billy Jeff Clinton we’re talking about.  It would have been surprising if he hadn’t been on a jet to an island where he could have sex with underaged girls.

Politico sat on allegations Lois Lerner had prior history of targeting conservatives. Given Politico’s well known left leaning tendencies, this is not a surprise.

Presented without further comment: How the @AP reports on two female presidential candidates from different parties.

Round Up Post

First off is a case of far left extremist (in this case a “social justice warrior”) putting up “Whites Only” stickers around Austin, TX.  He did to show how conservatives are “racists” and stuff.  All too often, cases of “hate crimes” like this are perpetrated by “progressives” in order to make reality match their extremist agenda.   HT to Leslie Bates for this one.

Next, the “most transparent administration ever” has announced that the IRS isn’t going to release any documents concerning their well documented targeting of conservative political groups.  In Obamamerica, the Freedom of Speech protections of the First Amendment only applies to speech our Dear Leader approves of.

The National Review points out that the Obama administration and Congressional democrats  “are practically praying for a Christian terrorist.”   They keep turning up to be Muslims though…

Jonah Goldberg makes the following accurate observation:

When someone asks, “Wouldn’t it be great to have a female president?” the correct answer, with varying degrees of enthusiasm, to be sure, is “Yes.”

When asked, “Wouldn’t it be great to have Hillary Clinton as president?” The correct answer, again with varying degrees of enthusiasm, is “Oh, dear God, no. No, no, no. No.”

What Hillary Clinton is trying to do is to make these questions synonymous. If you’re against having Hillary Clinton as president, you’re against having a woman president. It was a game that Barack Obama played with some sophistication. The “Ready for Hillary” crowd is about as subtle as a case of the clap.

In case you need reminding why this is true, here is just one reason: ‘Clintons turned the State Department into a racket to line their own pockets’

Another Four Pinocchios for Obama

Once again, the Washington Post Fact Checker has given our Dear Leader the highest rating, Four Pinocchios, for out right lying to the American People.

This time it is for spreading leftist propaganda about the Keystone pipeline.

As we have noted before, when the president says “it bypasses the United States,” he leaves out a very important step. The crude oil would travel to the Gulf Coast, where it would be refined into products such as motor gasoline and diesel fuel (known as a distillate fuel in the trade). Current trends suggest that only about half of that refined product would be exported, and it could easily be lower.

Finally, note that Obama said Keystone was just for Canadian oil, and “we should be focusing on American infrastructure for American jobs and American producers.” But actually, Keystone would help U.S. oil producers in North Dakota and Montana. TransCanada, the builder of the pipeline, has signed contracts to move 65,000 barrels a day from the Bakken area –and hopes to build that to 100,000. That’s nearly 10 percent of the region’s production.

So not only is Barry lying, he’s repeating lies.  As the Washington Post article, reports from the State Department show that he is lying.

Previous Four Pinocchio rating for our Dear Leader include lies about President George H.W. Bush’s amnesty program, and lies about his signature Obamacare fiasco.

Culture of Corruption

As I’ve pointed out before, if you want to know what the left is up to, just observe what they accuse those they perceive as foes of.

Case in the point, the “Culture of Corruption” charge they leveled against the Republicans.

Let’s review how that actually works

Former New York State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver was indicted Thursday on three charges after his arrest in a federal bribery case.

The indictment was returned in Manhattan federal court, where he appeared briefly last month when he was freed on bail just a day after sharing the stage with Gov. Andrew Cuomo during his State of the State address.

Then there is the DNC spokesliar, Debbie Wasserman Schultz.  Politico reports that her “office offered to change her position on medical marijuana if a major Florida donor recanted his withering criticism of her…”

Two key democrat voting demographics

With the mid-term elections coming fast (Tuesday, except if you are Progressive, then you have a special voting day on Wednesday), expect the democrats to try and maximize two of their two key voting demographics, the dead and non-citizens.

Let us review:

Mr. Reynolds was spot on correct when he said the following about democrats, “Remember,  you don’t just have to beat them. You have to beat them beyond the margin of fraud.”

Update: First case of voter fraud confirmed in New Mexico. It won’t be the last.

The left’s War on Women

As I have pointed out before, if you want to know what the left is up to, just check what they are accusing others of.

Case in point, the so-called “War on Women.”

While giving a get-out-the-vote speech at a Florence, South Carolina political event, Democrat gubernatorial candidate, State Senator Vincent Shaheen, told cheering fans of his opponent, sitting Republican governor Nikki Haley, “We are going to escort whore out the door.”

A so-called “reporter” at CNN by the name of Carol Costello, got on her high hobby horse in defense of “violence against women” when a football player got caught on camera, but she found the story of Bristol Palin being assaulted a source of humor.    The hypocrisy of the left knows no bounds.

This double standard of the left, where they condone, and even support, violence against any woman who does not support their extremist agenda, is not new.

Conservative columnist Mary Katharine Ham wrote the following ten years ago in about her “liberal” friends response to threats of violence against her.

Why did I deserve it? Because I’m conservative, and to my liberal acquaintances, “conservative” is interchangeable with any number of fun words, like racist, homophobe,  warmonger, and bigot. Even my best liberal friends have refuse to let go of these one-dimensional definitions despite the fact that a three-dimensional specimen has been disproving all of them throughout our friendship. So much for nuance.

In short, I deserved it because I’m a conservative (wink, wink, nudge, nudge.) And when you’re dealing with people as dastardly as conservatives, anything goes.

This same rationale allowed liberal acquaintances to giggle when Ann Coulter was attacked by two young men with pies and shrug as former Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris was almost run over. NOW and NARAL would be holding weekly violence-against-women awareness marches if the same had happened to Maureen Dowd and Hillary Clinton.

There was the New York Times’ dreams of an assassination attempt on President Bush and Ted Rall’s double whammy hit on the mentally handicapped and Bush voters. But then came Condi Rice’s appointment to Secretary of State. What a goldmine that was!

Suddenly, racism was an acceptable political tool. Jokes about Mammies and big-lipped caricatures were en vogue. Most of us got the memo that our culture deems these kind of attacks to be about as reprehensible as they get. Liberal cartoonists and commentators got that memo too. But there was no retraction from them, and not a peep from the NAACP or NOW.

Why no outrage? Because Condi deserved it. She’s a conservative, you know.

Calling Condi “Brown Sugar” becomes a reasonable criticism because she is a member of the Bush administration. A physical attack on Coulter is a laughing matter because she is a hawk. Tailing a female acquaintance on a dark night becomes a funny joke because she’s conservative.

It seems to me that this is not the path to a civil political climate or national healing, both of which my liberal friends want. To me, my liberal friends and acquaintances are folks who are a little too soft on national defense and a little too heavy on the government programs for my taste. They do not deserve physical or racist attacks for that, and I do not laugh when they happen. I wish they felt the same way about me.
