{"id":2605,"date":"2011-06-13T18:07:25","date_gmt":"2011-06-13T22:07:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.urbin.net\/blog\/?p=2605"},"modified":"2011-06-13T18:07:25","modified_gmt":"2011-06-13T22:07:25","slug":"beware-of-obamas-upcoming-more-of-the-same","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/urbin.net\/blog\/economy\/beware-of-obamas-upcoming-more-of-the-same\/","title":{"rendered":"Beware of Obama&#8217;s upcoming More of the Same"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.urbin.net\/blog\/?p=2588\">As noted before<\/a>, our <em>Dear Leader<\/em>&#8216;s economic policies, i.e. Keynesian economics theory that only really works in a classroom environment, has resulted in a noted and sharp increase in inflation, while doing little or nothing to spur real economic growth.<\/p>\n<p>The lack of growth, is evident in these three figures pointing the change since our Dear Leader took office:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Unemployment: up 25%<\/li>\n<li>Debt: up 35%<\/li>\n<li>Price of a galleon of gas: up 104%<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The source for these numbers, that tool of the Vast Right Conspiracy<sup>tm<\/sup>, NBC News&#8217; own &#8220;Meet the Press.&#8221; Oh, sorry, NBC is a decidedly left leaning News organization, so these numbers must be pretty damn solid in order for David Gregory to rub DNC spokesperson Rep. Wassermann-Schultz&#8217;s nose in them.<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"425\" height=\"349\" classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" codebase=\"http:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0\"><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\" \/><param name=\"src\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/aUfovjCCK4o?version=3&amp;hl=en_US\" \/><param name=\"allowfullscreen\" value=\"true\" \/><\/object><\/p>\n<p>There is also this informative graph.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.urbin.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/updated-unemployment-stimulus-graph.png?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2607\" title=\"updated unemployment stimulus graph\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.urbin.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/updated-unemployment-stimulus-graph-300x198.png?resize=300%2C198&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"198\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As you can clearly see, the affect our <em>Dear Leader<\/em>&#8216;s economic policies have had is to make things worse than if he and the Congressional democrats had done nothing at all! \u00a0Also keep in mind, that it was in our <em>Dear Leader<\/em>&#8216;s best interest to take the worst case\u00a0scenario\u00a0for the \u00a0&#8220;Without Recovery Plan&#8221; numbers in this graph. \u00a0Thus the odds are that if the federal government hadn&#8217;t done a damn thing, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.coxandforkum.com\/archives\/001227.html\">including not violating the rule of law and letting GM &amp; Chrysler file Chapter 11 without making sure the UAW got paid off <em>before<\/em> the bond holders<\/a>, the unemployment numbers would not only be lower than what they currently are, they would be lower than the &#8220;Without Recover Plan&#8221; projections the chart listed above. \u00a0Not just lower, but probably closer to the &#8220;With Recovery Plan&#8221; numbers, which I can see the Keynesian addicted White House &#8220;economists&#8221; considered their &#8220;safe&#8221; number projections for economic performance based on their years of classroom\u00a0experience.<\/p>\n<p>The the democrat&#8217;s <em>so-called<\/em> &#8220;stimulus plan&#8221; failed came as surprise to nobody who was 1. Paying Attention, 2. could do some basic mathematics, and 3. ever held a job in the real world. \u00a0Even if you take the White House numbers on faith, i.e &#8220;created or saved&#8221; jobs does not equal new jobs when you recount the same jobs as &#8220;saved&#8221; multiple times, the basic math doesn&#8217;t work. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.economics21.org\/blog\/revisiting-unemployment-predictions\">Economic Policies for the 21<sup>st<\/sup> Century points out one of principle flaws<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>[E]ven if you buy the White House\u2019s argument that the $800 billion package created 3 million jobs, that works out to $266,000 per job. Taxing or borrowing $266,000 from the private sector to create a single job is simply not a cost effective way of putting America back to work. The long-term debt burden of that $266,000 swamps any benefit that the single job created might provide.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In the face of the obviously failure of their policies, what do you think our <em>Dear Leader<\/em> and the Congressional democrats are offering? \u00a0Yup, that&#8217;s right. \u00a0More of the same. \u00a0Yet another &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.urbin.net\/blog\/?p=2116\">quantitative easing<\/a>&#8221; (i.e. printing money with nothing to back it, an inflationary tactic) is being planned. \u00a0Despite that the results of such a policy were clear back in March of 2009, when this cartoon was published.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.coxandforkum.com\/archives\/001226.html\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2610\" title=\"&quot;Stimulus&quot; Trap\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.urbin.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/03.15.09.Stimulus-300x214.gif?resize=300%2C214&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"214\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hmmm&#8230;.looks like the nice men at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.coxandforkum.com\/archives\/001226.html\">Cox &amp; Forkum<\/a> nailed it right on the head with that one. \u00a0It makes one wonder, if the label on the outside of the box was our Dear Leader&#8217;s ultimate goal, and that he really didn&#8217;t care what the effect on the economy would be. \u00a0He knew that he wasn&#8217;t going to be bothered by it, as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/articles\/269361\/obama-s-road-nowhere-mark-steyn\">Mark Steyn pointed out<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI\u2019m not concerned about a double-dip recession,\u201d Obama said last week. Nor would I be if I had government housing, a car and driver, and a social secretary for the missus. But I wonder if it\u2019s such a smart idea to let one\u2019s breezy insouciance out of the bag when you\u2019re giving a press conference.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>To use a phrase our <em>Dear Leader<\/em> is fond of, he just doesn&#8217;t have any &#8220;skin in the game.&#8221; He has never worked a day in his life in private sector economy and he never will. Prior to running for President, he managed to go $300,000 in debt on a family income of half a million dollars a year.
