{"id":2160,"date":"2010-12-12T10:55:00","date_gmt":"2010-12-12T14:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.urbin.net\/blog\/?p=2160"},"modified":"2010-12-12T10:55:00","modified_gmt":"2010-12-12T14:55:00","slug":"an-honest-look-at-democrat-talking-points-on-tax-hikes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/urbin.net\/blog\/economy\/an-honest-look-at-democrat-talking-points-on-tax-hikes\/","title":{"rendered":"An Honest Look at democrat talking points on tax hikes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Let\u2019s be honest here, the \u201ctax increase on the richest Americans\u201d that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.urbin.net\/EWW\/polyticks\/democrats.html\">democrats<\/a> keep repeating their talking points on, won\u2019t effect the \u201crichest Americans\u201d one damn bit.<\/p>\n<p>Take my senior Senator for example, based on his income as a Senator alone, he should be paying federal tax at a rate in the mid thirties. \u00a0In addition to his tax payer funded income, he personally is worth hundreds of millions of dollars, plus he married a woman who inherited billions of dollars from her late husband. \u00a0His federal tax rate is 14%.<\/p>\n<p>The tax hike the democrats are so hot for won\u2019t effect his tax rate one damn bit. \u00a0So the democrat\u2019s\u00a0rhetoric\u00a0about having the richest Americans pair their fair share of taxes is a flat out lie.<\/p>\n<p>One of good ideas of the President\u2019s deficit reduction panel was to drastically simplify the tax code and reduce the highest tax rate to 25%. \u00a0That will reduce the 30% plus overhead of the IRS and get uber-rich democrats, like my senior Senator, to actually pay their fair share of the taxes paid by almost every other working American.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t expect democrats to embrace this idea though. \u00a0It goes against their core values, like waging class warfare.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Let\u2019s be honest here, the \u201ctax increase on the richest Americans\u201d that the democrats keep repeating their talking points on, won\u2019t effect the \u201crichest Americans\u201d one damn bit.
