Jeff Miller has made a list of some of our Dear Leader’s promises and how he has followed up on them<\/a>.<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0He\u00a0campaigned against an insurance mandate<\/a> and then gave us one.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0He promised he wouldn\u2019t hire lobbyists, and then hired\u00a0at least 40 of them<\/a>.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0He promised to release logs of meetings between his staff and lobbyists, and then his staff started meeting\u00a0across the street with lobbyists so it wouldn\u2019t be logged<\/a>.<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0He promised not to raise any taxes on families that make under $250,000, and then raised several taxes that apply to them<\/a>.<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0He promised to post all bills on the internet for five days before he would sign them, and\u00a0he\u2019s broken this promise<\/a> with nearly every bill he\u2019s signed.<\/p>\n

6.\u00a0He promised not to tax health care benefits, and then\u00a0signed a law that taxes health care benefits<\/a>.<\/p>\n

7.\u00a0He promised to get us out of Iraq;\u00a0not happening<\/a>.<\/p>\n

8.\u00a0He promised to close Guantanamo;\u00a0not happening<\/a>.<\/p>\n

9.\u00a0He\u00a0lied about the cost of his health care plan<\/a>.<\/p>\n

10.\u00a0He promised to televise the health care negotiations, and\u00a0didn\u2019t<\/a>.<\/p>\n

11.\u00a0He promised to veto all legislation with earmarks;\u00a0he hasn\u2019t<\/a>.<\/p>\n

12.\u00a0He has bragged about\u00a0continuing the Bush treatment of detainees<\/a>.<\/p>\n

13.\u00a0He promised transparency and then\u00a0prosecuted leakers<\/a>. \u00a0(Plus, remember\u00a0this<\/a>?)<\/p>\n

14.\u00a0He\u00a0lied about the public option<\/a>. \u00a0And about a\u00a0ton of other stuff<\/a>.<\/p>\n

15.\u00a0Remembering signing statements? \u00a0Obama\u00a0assumes you don\u2019t<\/a>.<\/p>\n

16.\u00a0Don\u2019t ask, don\u2019t tell? \u00a0Still in place<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And then there\u2019s the other stuff, the silly and the sad, like the\u00a0commissions<\/a>,\u00a0embarrassing issues of foreign etiquette<\/a>,\u00a0lambasting tax breaks he voted for<\/a>,\u00a0bribing people with job offers<\/a>, bemoaning the iPod that\u00a0he himself uses<\/a>, his\u00a0habitual invocation of straw men<\/a>, his\u00a0destruction of jobs<\/a>,\u00a0wasted money<\/a>,\u00a0the cash-for-clunkers\/housing-credit idiocy<\/a>, the\u00a0foreclosure plan folly<\/a>, the\u00a0fake fiscal restraint<\/a>,\u00a0unemployment and the stimulus bill<\/a>, and the fact that Obama\u2019s policies redistribute wealth\u00a0from poor to rich<\/a>.<\/p>\n

President Obama is not just a mediocre president; he\u2019s not just a bad president. \u00a0President Obama is a terrible president. \u00a0He is a terrible president by any standard, but certainly by his own. \u00a0We were promised great things, and instead, we got just another lousy politician.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
