{"id":1204,"date":"2009-11-01T10:16:36","date_gmt":"2009-11-01T14:16:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.urbin.net\/blog\/?p=1204"},"modified":"2009-11-01T10:16:36","modified_gmt":"2009-11-01T14:16:36","slug":"obamas-calculator-abuse","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/urbin.net\/blog\/economy\/obamas-calculator-abuse\/","title":{"rendered":"Obama&#8217;s &#8216;Calculator Abuse&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.abcnews.com\/politicalpunch\/2009\/10\/160000-per-stimulus-job-white-house-calls-that-calculator-abuse.html\">According to ABC News&#8217; Jack Tapper,<\/a> Jared Bernstein, chief economist and senior economic advisor to the vice president, used the term &#8220;Calculator Abuse&#8221; when a reporter did some basic\u00a0arithmetic\u00a0\u00a0the the federal government&#8217;s own numbers. \u00a0The government&#8217;s own numbers show what the reporter pointed out, $160 billion spent divided by 1 million jobs &#8220;created or saved&#8221; means that each of those jobs &#8220;created or saved&#8221; cost the US taxpayer $160,000 per job. \u00a0Once again, Team Lightbringer\u00a0responded\u00a0with a classic defense, &#8220;Who are you going to believe? Me or that lying calculator?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As we know know, the term &#8220;jobs created or saved&#8221; is a scam created by our Dear Leader to hide the truth from the American People. \u00a0It has become so obvious that even CBS &#8220;News&#8221; has been forced to report on it.<\/p>\n<p><object classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" width=\"425\" height=\"349\" codebase=\"http:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0\"><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"allowScriptAccess\" value=\"always\" \/><param name=\"src\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/QxYIHl0Ozbg&amp;rel=0&amp;border=1&amp;color1=0x3a3a3a&amp;color2=0x999999&amp;hl=en&amp;feature=player_embedded&amp;fs=1\" \/><param name=\"allowfullscreen\" value=\"true\" \/><\/object><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ace.mu.nu\/archives\/294203.php\">Ace goes into much more detail <\/a>on how the Obama administration knew it was a farce from day one and were much more concerned with creating the illusion of economic growth where there is none.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>When the WH demanded that those who received Spendulus money &#8220;report&#8221; back on how many jobs were &#8220;saved or created,&#8221; they insisted upon a nonsensical rule: If a single dollar of Spendulus was spent on an employee&#8217;s salary, whether that employee was a new employee or an old one, that gets counted as a job &#8220;saved or created.&#8221; If he&#8217;s a new employee, that job was created. If he&#8217;s an existing employee, that job was saved.<\/p>\n<p>For $1.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, $1. Because the nonsensical rules the White House told these people to count &#8220;saved or created&#8221; jobs by simply stated: If any employee&#8217;s salary is paid, in whole or in part (any part!), count that as a job &#8220;saved or created&#8221; by the spending.<\/p>\n<p>And then report that number back to us.<\/p>\n<p>Note that the White House&#8217;s rules do not seek to discover which jobs really were &#8220;saved or created.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The harsh reality of the current economy, the worst since Jimmy Carter,  and its effects on the average American just doesn&#8217;t matter to our <em>Dear Leader<\/em>.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/michellemalkin.com\/2009\/10\/30\/the-stimulus-jobs-inflation-index\/\"><br \/>\nMichelle Malkin has more details<\/a> on the &#8220;jobs created and saved&#8221; scam.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update<\/strong>:<a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/hostednews\/ap\/article\/ALeqM5jMNoef6xDenBbHWO0Im6rIjDmAgAD9BOJH300\"> More evidence that our <em>Dear Leader<\/em>&#8216;s &#8220;jobs created and saved&#8221; numbers are complete and utter nonsense<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>President Barack Obama&#8217;s economic recovery program saved 935 jobs at the Southwest Georgia Community Action Council, an impressive success story for the stimulus plan. Trouble is, only 508 people work there.<br \/>\nThe Georgia nonprofit&#8217;s inflated job count is among persisting errors in the government&#8217;s latest effort to measure the effect of the $787 billion stimulus plan despite White House promises last week that the new data would undergo an &#8220;extensive review&#8221; to root out errors discovered in an earlier report.<br \/>\nAbout two-thirds of the 14,506 jobs claimed to be saved under one federal office, the Administration for Children and Families at Health and Human Services, actually weren&#8217;t saved at all, according to a review of the latest data by The Associated Press.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Update<\/strong>: Even the way far left leaning <a href=\"http:\/\/multimedia.boston.com\/m\/27359477\/globe-stimulus-job-numbers-over-inflated.htm\">Boston Globe has noticed that the White House numbers have no connection of reality<\/a>.  It is interesting to listen to the Globe reporter try to spin this White House scam as a &#8220;<em>mistake<\/em>.&#8221; There is no mistake.
